DL?
What for?
Tommy John surgery or something I’m sure…
“Back spasms,” they said on the radio; “lower back strain,” the press clarifies.
Given that Baek was ready to be added to the 25-man in time to pick up the W in game 2, certain suspicions do seem to suggest themselves (whether validly or not I don’t know).
The M’s had a plan all along of sending someone down and bringing up Baek if they used to many pitchers in game one. They had said this in the paper before the game. If they didn’t need him, they would have sent him back to Tacoma to be available for Tacoma’s 6:00pm game.
So why not just send Nageotte down to create a spot? I tend to think this was a real injury, but I was surprised that they decided so quickly to shelve him for 15 days.
