Section 101

Forgot to mention this, but Ken Haselman got his letter about the bleachers into the Sunday Times/PI sports letters section. Nice.

Tonight I counted 10 people in the Section 101 seats in the bottom of the first and around 20-25 people by the 5th.

After this cause, can we work on improving the food and making obese people (>315 lbs) pay for two seats?

It also made this week’s Answer Guy:

I meant the topic of the bleachers, not Ken’s letter. Sorry if any confusion.

There were some rumblings around the press box tonight regarding section 101…apparently they’ve been getting some mail about it…personally I haven’t been following the whole ordeal with that much vigilance, but I thought I’d pass it along.

Mike (http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/baseball/189716_aguy07.html): Thanks for the link. The letter was mine, posted here in Comments a week ago when I sent it to the PI. I’m glad to see that Marshall dug a bit deeper this week. This may be starting to strike some sparks.

Writing the letter was my pleasure. It was the result of my attendance at a recent game with a friend who was looking for his commemorative brick, now buried under the BS stands. I also spoke with some vendors who were doing not-so-much business behind the stands. The whole experience got our dander up, and with DMZ’s outspoken and eloquent activity on this site I shot off my email to the Times and others. Hopefully, all of this will help to get those stands put away where they belong.

    Ken:
I wonder what the reaction would have been had we signed our letters: “USSM Blog Committee for Section 101”?
