Jamie Moyer takes the hill in an afternoon game as the M’s try to sweep the Royals and hand them their 18th consecutive loss. Good God, they’re terrible.

Re: 145, which was my own comment — I just noticed that Jamie’s career high strikeout game, with 13 strikeouts, was April 8, 1989. Felix’s birthday is April 8, 1986. So that career high K-game happened on Felix’s 3rd birthday. Isn’t that weird?

hmm. odds on the Mariners giving permission for Felix to pitch in the world cup…..

Good point msb. Personally I hope they don’t allow him to, since it would be hard to control his pitch count. But, barring injury, they should both be at the top of their games when the next WC rolls around (assuming there is a next one).

#303: Was talkin’ about the Yankees, not us obviously

#305: As much as I am all for the World Cup, you don’t risk a organization’s best arm and their top prospect just for a silly tournament that no one really knows about yet.

And hence the World Cup is doomed. Never mind, I think there’s a real World Cup next year anyway. Venezuela are unlikely to feature.
