New arrival…

JMB · July 25, 2006 at 6:06 pm · Filed Under Off-topic ranting

Long time readers may recall this post, dated two years and two days ago. Along similar lines, I’m pleased to announce the arrival of the newest M’s fan, Noah Robert Barker, born today at 8:24am. I’d have a picture for you, but WordPress is arguing with me at the moment. (Take that, WordPress!).

    Fatherhood kicks ass. 😀

awwwwww. Noah looks a fine lad.

Speaking of pictures, I had my wallet-full of kid pictures here a minute ago, hold on, I can find them, no wait, don’t go away…

Congratulations, Jason. Truly the best news one can get in the world, I think. A healthy child. Good work.

And, two years and two days??? No wonder you’re tired.

Did you enjoy your week with a non-pregnant wife last year?

    Congratulations again.

  9. JMB on July 25th, 2006 7:38 pm

Yes! Two years and two days. It’s the right time of the year, or something. And both boys born over (essentially, since Noah’s a few days late for it) the hottest weekend of the year.

Congratulations! Noah looks quite peaceful, content, even restful! Hope you parents can achieve the same state of being sometime soon. Strange question: that wasn’t at providence was it? My wife and I had our first baby there 3 months ago, and the baby blanket, hat, and mom’s PJs look familiar…

    **Voopa voopa voopa voopa ding
“Noah, I want you to build an ark.”

“And you want me to put on the ark all of the animals two by two, right?”

    “No…just Carl Everett.”

But seriously, all the best for and your family.

    What’s a cubit?

    Congrats, JMB.

Nope, not Providence… Swedish. I guess they all look the same.

Congratulations indeed — new life to make the world smile. And Lord knows between the Mariners and the Middle East tonight we can use a smile.

Congrats, Jason. Note: Two of them are about four times as exhausting as one (as I’ve had the pleasure to find out over the last seven or so months). But it’s all worth it.

  16. Evan on July 25th, 2006 11:00 pm

    What’s a cubit?

    2 spans. About 18″.

Congratulations, Jason. As a chef, you’re intentionally creating new mouths to feed, aren’t you?

  17. Otto on July 25th, 2006 11:14 pm

Congrats nothing beats being a parent.

Can I just have a total girl moment here? Thanks.

Awwwwww… He’s so adorable with that perfect little nose and charming grin.

    Okay, girl-y moment is over.

So Jason, what’s your oppinion? Do think he’s more of a power hitting infielder? Or maybe a singles hitting outfielder with speed? Or could he even be a groundball pitcher?

Anyway, congrats Jason (and wife). I wish you and your family the best.

    That’s the best!

I’ve been reading the site for a while and figured I’d sign up at some point. What better time than now?

    Congratulations, Jason.

Well, dang, if only I’d seen this BEFORE Stitch’n’Pitch night, I could have knitted a hat or something for him with the yarn they gave us.

    Just kidding. Congrats!

  22. Jar on July 26th, 2006 4:53 am

    That’s awesome! Congrats bro!

Having had two sons born at Swedish, I can say with experience that they have the best chocolate shakes ever. It’s hot. Treat yourself.

    Congrats!

  25. JMB on July 26th, 2006 10:22 am

So there was a knitting promotion going on? I had the game on last night for a bit, sound off, and they showed a crowd scene with waaaay too many people knitting for it just to be a coincidence.

Thanks for the tip on the shakes.
