Deadline Day
The trade deadline has come and gone, and the M’s have made no moves. Which I’m totally fine with.

Mark Lowe is a relief pitcher, not a starter.
Odd for you to say that, Jason, when Dave suggested possibly trying him as a starter in 2007.
I actually was sort of surprised at how easily the USSM crew packed it in on Q13 last night. I’m not ready to say “no†about the M’s being in the playoffs yet. Ask me in a month.
I’m just happy, honestly, that the M’s have about a 20% chance of winning the division, and it’s the last day of July. I’m not too bullish about them pulling off, but there’s hope this year that hasn’t been there in a couple of years.
Why is it odd, because Dave has a different view of Lowe than the Mariners do?
I’d try it, too, but that doesn’t mean Seattle will.
All of the player development people prefer him in the bullpen, and as late as this spring training, so does Rafael Chaves.
