I’m sorry, Jar (105): Inappropriate use of the word “Jesus” is not at all like using a racial slur against Jews. Not showing proper deference to a person’s beliefs is quite a bit different than denigrating a person based on their ethnicity.

The closest parallel would be spelling out “God” (or even worse the hebrew letters, if your keyboard produces them), which is considered sacriligious by the more orthodox practitioners of the Jewish religion. (”Hashem” means “He who shall not be named” roughly.)

DMZ, you are now my hero for using the word “obtuse” in a conversation. One of my favorite words to describe peoples’ tendencies in argument. Have you discovered the wonderful world of “disingenuous?” I find it great fun to accuse my friends of being disingenuously obtuse. (Usually it takes a few drinks before I start saying things like that though.)

On topic, is there anything JJ has been doing differently lately? He seems kind of shaky lately. Do y’all think it’s just hitters adapting to the splitter, or just not hitting the strike zone as much, or….? ???
