That's the argument for "get to the playoffs consistently". The Cardinals aren't a bad team but three weeks ago there was a pretty good case that they weren't one of the TEN best teams in baseball. They certainly looked to be the weakest team in the playoffs. Now they're World Series champs. Actually even today, I don't think they're one of the ten best teams this year.
