Grover did have a lot of input on the Everett signing, so maybe he needed a new lousy DH.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it find it hard to believe that Hargrove has the clout to make a deal like this happen. If I'm wrong, and the idiot actually gets that much input into transactions, then there is no hope for this franchise.

It's not hard to understand why the team gave up on Snelling. He really scuffled for long portions of the season in Tacoma, and couldn't really field CF like they'd like him to have. After bringing him up, he hit the snot out of the ball for about 10 games, then fell apart completely. I can only guess that the coaching staff was trying to make him something he wasn't. I wish the kid well over there in DC, where he can learn at the feet of Nick Johnson, the hitter he'll most resemble if everything goes right for him.

Even if we traded Michael goddam Garciaparra for him, why in the hell are we paying $6M the next two years for Vidro? He's not getting any better, and the 2005-6 version is obscenely overpaid at 7 HR's per year.

Two weeks ago, I was excited about the upcoming season, and thinking about a 20 ticket package. Now, I'm looking for a new team to root for, because this one is going to be a bottom dweller for freaking years.

According to the Mariners website, Vidro will be the DH.

Fucking Hell.

He's the worst DH this side of Carl Everett. Why don't we bring Gary Pettis out of retirement and DH him.

#3 - I agree with you at this point. I will still follow the boxscores in the paper and highlights on tv, but I will not purchase any merchandise or watch/listen to any of the games for quite awhile...
