First televised game of 2007 thread of awesomeness
Wooooo! M’s on television! Yayyy! I’m so excited I’m posting hours early!
Rumored M’s lineup, from the Times blog:
CF-L Ichiro
3B-R Adrian Beltre
DH-B Jose Vidro
LF-L Raul Ibanez
1B-R Richie Sexson
RF-R Mike Morse
C-R Jeff Clement
2B-R Jose Lopez
SS-R Yuniesky Betancourt
For the Giants: some guys. Who cares.
Edit: Also, Dave’s at the game, so if you see someone throwing rocks at Jose Vidro in the background, that’s probably me. Will have notes up late tonight. Brandon Morrow looked awesome in Mesa today, by the way.
From the Times blog:
Good thing the Cubs can fold their laundry and have a packed stadium come to watch, otherwise, the M’s would have some explaining to do
Hee hee hee.

5-3. Clement is up at the plate waiting to strike out looking.
there is an optimist at the game, looking at Morse at the plate and shouting ‘tie it up, here!’
you know, what the Moose ad really needs is Matty Sinatro putting the flags on the map.

So with the addition of Blowers this year, does this mean we no longer have to listen to Hendu?
from Larry Stone:
“The Mariners’ 2007 plan is for Niehaus to begin each game in the TV
booth for the first few innings with Blowers, and then move to the radio booth with Rizzs. For most games, Rizzs will work on the radio side only. Sims and Blowers will team up when Niehaus goes to the radio booth. Blowers, 41, replaces former analysts Henderson and Valle, who may appear in more limited roles. Adamack said the team was looking for a full-time analyst, rather than splitting the duties as in the past. “We’ve told both of them [Henderson and Valle] there will probably be some times over the course of the season where we’d want to use them in a game here or there,” Adamack said.””
So on radio-only games (and games where we’re in the car or otherwise unable to use a TV) we’re going to have to listen to Rizzs for the entire game? Aaaargh! I guess the upside is that if you stick to TV only, you’ll never hear him. And you get a full helping of Blowers rather than Henderson or Valle. Man, they must really want to drive people towards TV. KIRO can’t be happy.
