Stop rosterbating. And they can't trade a pitcher (Weaver) who will be a free agent...

127 - Next year The Twins could pull this off if they re-sign Johan and throw in Garza, Boof, Liriano, and Baker/Slowey. They would have best rotations in the majors if Liriano returns strong and the other pitchers show progress.

The Yankees have enough young talented pitchers to do this, but they have so much salary locked up in veterans, and no need to free up salary, that theres no way they'd even try this.

The Devil Rays could put together a great young staff of Kazmir, Shields, Sonnanstine, Wade Davis, Hellickson, McGee, the list goes on

The As already have no one over 26 in their rotation, and no starters devouring payroll... One problem, their number 1/2 Harden can't stay healthy.

Marlins? They already tried this strategy throwing in youngsters with Dontrelle. The problem is they don't have an ace to make it work. Vanden Hurk, Sanchez, Johnson, Nolasco, Volstad, etc. take your pick could make an above average rotation (if they had an ace).

I would much rather rely on good pitching then good hitting, though. How about trading Horacio and Weaver to the Pirates? (they wanted matt morris right?) Then paying the big bucks to pick up some major league pitchers, and then fill in the roster spots we had to trade away with young hitters. None of the current division leaders allowed more than 666 Runs while we have given up 733.

Well enough rosterbation... actually, there is plenty of time for this now that the season is over.

161- mmmmm, Mac can't get enough of that veteran goodness. Most likely he'll throw Sexson in some tight spot and he'll strike out or ground out. If the Mariners went 18-0 in their last few games, and the playoffs were on the line, He would probably choose Sexson over Jones in the lineup and waste ABs. Not that that would ever happen of course.....

Mac on Sexson:
"If we get things going he would like to contribute somewhere, somehow, sometime,” McLaren said. “He’s always been that way. I do appreciate that about the veteran players wanting to get back out there.”

Woo hoo, this could be a start to a 18 game win streak! Jk, but they won, not that it matters.
