So Felix effectively was a knuckleball pitcher for the day. Just not an effective knuckleball pitcher.

It would be kind of cool if the wind was strong but steady. I bet with a bit of practice a pitcher could break off some wicked sliders.

watching the tv repeat of the game, Blowers sounds pretty prescient when he announced early on that it was going to be an adventure for the outfielders today; good Felix quote:

The wind gusts of up to 26 mph were a challenge, and Hernandez said his breaking pitches took on a life of their own. McLaren compared the wind to the old days at Candlestick Park across San Francisco Bay.

"Oh, man, I don't like that," Hernandez said. "The wind was killing me today. That was tough. They gave me a five-run lead and I was just trying to hang in there. If I never see this wind again it would be good for me."

144: I like games and don't want to wait a year before they come out on PC for them to come out on Mac. If they ever do.

Let the religious wars begin (please note...I didn't start this).

Oakland fans have no toofs.

A's fans seem to have a tradition of booing the hell out of the opposition's best players. I don't think it's malicious at all or that they even dislike those players (such as Ichiro); it's just a funny way to root for your team.

Cano, Cabrera, Hughes, Chamberlain, Kennedy … How did the Yankees end up with so many top prospects? Oh yeah, everyone ahead of them in the draft doesn’t want to pay for talent (unless it is mediocre veteran “talent”).

huh? Cano was a non-draft free agent, Cabrera was a non-draft free agent, Hughes was a high-school pick expected to go mid-range in the 1st round without signability problems (which he did), Chamberlin was a sandwich pick who slipped due to injury concerns, Boras client Kennedy's stock was said to have dropped a bit when drafted, but still went in the 1st round

146: I think part of the reason Bone got razzed as bad as he did down in Oaktown is that he seemed to tear them up on a pretty consistent basis.

I was thinking just this morning that if they hadn't teased us by coming soooooooo close with both the WC & the division, we would have been thrilled with the guarantee that they'd end the year above .500, especially with the pitching imploding as it did.
