Is that a picture of John Ellis or Sam Waterson?

In the Mariners baseball system, the fans are screwed over by two separate yet equally incompetent groups: the front office, who pay too much for the wrong players, and the ownership, who hires the front office. These are their stories.

Interesting note on Yuniesky Betancourt:
The media guide points out that Yuni committed 19 of his 23 errors before the All-Star break (thus using a small sample to imply improvement), but also say that he didn't commit his first error until May 7th. That means he made NINETEEN errors between May 7th and July 8th, a span of 58 games. That's one error every three games. That's bad shortstopping.
Of course, during part of that errorfest (May 20th to June 9th) Yuni had a 20-game hitting streak.

19 - I have pictures of my Senior Prom from 1976 that would make that one look like America's Next Top Model. Longer hair, too!

Not sure if this is actually in the media guide but

Turn Back the Clock to the 1980s on Saturday, July 19, vs. the Cleveland Indians. The Mariners will wear V-neck pullover tops with Mariners in blue and gold across the chest and royal blue caps with a gold S. The Indians will wear uniforms featured in the movie Major League. Fans are encouraged to wear their vintage 80s attire.

How awesome would it be if Putz came out wearing Charlie Sheen's heavy black-rimmed glasses with the little skull and cross-bones over the nose piece? (Speaking of Putz, he gets a soul patch night on April 12th).

drjeff,

Noted, not a great pic. When I worked for the club I did have occasion to do some jobs for her, and let me tell you, she is about the nicest lady on the planet. I give her a pass on the hair.

Oh, and my Adobe Reader seems to want to open the media guide at 158%, likely in tribute to the amount of effort WFB gives on the basepaths.
