So, what's the difference between an observation and a judgment, especially when the "observation" immediately follows you stating that Morse has been "solid at 3B"?

And who's to say that Andriesen understands sample size any better than anyone else?

Jeff,

I didn't make a judgment on Morse's fielding ability. I simply made a specific and personal observation.

In regards to base running, Mr. Andriesen reached a conclusion based upon a very small sample size. In fact, I can only remember Morse making one base running mistake this spring, but that is only an observation...not a judgment.

Why has nobody thought about Coco Crisp for left field? The guy has speed, can hit for average, plays great defense, and Boston has no place for him. I’m sure they would love to take Norton or one of our bench people off our hands. Just an idea, yes i realize he is an injury waiting happen. No, i don’t care, worst case scenerio is Raul back in left.

It is beyond dispute that a few plays is not enough sample size to make a judgment about anyone’s fielding ability.

that's an Austen quote, right?

Morse is a liability in the outfield, but he has been solid at 3B. He made a couple of nice plays against the Angels last Sunday, right in front of our seats.

Morse played well again last night, but looked terrible at the plate.
