I actually live in Everett, but I bet the team would demand a chaperon for any player staying with me. Three guys, none older than 26, all single, with two border collies and a Great Dane. If they are looking for a home for a bench guy and don’t care if he shows up drunk and stoned to the ballpark in the early afternoon, this might be the place.

the Sox have done it for years, and you often hear about guys arriving in Tacoma, and meeting up with their Sox hosts. here is an old article about Yung Chi Chen & his host family

The Cape Cod league (where I spent a couple of weeks each summer) does it as well. They used to require that the players also have summer jobs but very few of them do any more. At most they work at baseball camps put on by their respective host club.

This sounds similar to the billet programs that WHL teams like the T-Birds and Silvertips sponsor during the winter months. Pretty cool idea.

Sounds pretty cool. If I lived closer to Everett and had an extra room available, I would certainly try this out.
