BTW – A couple of us saw Felix limping after his bunt. I thought maybe his calf was acting up at the time and I’m not sure they are related, but just thought I’d pass along.

apparently it was; Riggleman said when Felix went down at the plate later he thought he’d messed up his calf again, having seen him favor it after the ‘burst of speed’ to the bag..

A lot of Mets fans were awful, cheering on the injury. When he tried to throw a pitch and went down in pain the cheering started again. Then when he was helped off, a smaller set clapped (in a good way). But hell, I also heard fans yelling at Delgado for talking to the Mariners that made it to first base (it seemed Delgado and Ichiro had quite a conversation). They called him a bum from 30′ away. I have to say that I’m proud that Met’s stadium is not my home stadium. Call me a NW hippie or wuss or whatever, but that just isn’t a cool environment.

BTW – A couple of us saw Felix limping after his bunt. He looked in pain after he stepped on first base and then took his time getting back to the dugout. Even the ump asked him if he was OK (I’m guessing – I can’t really tell what he said). According to the Tacoma Rainiers roster page, Ryan Feierabend and Eric O'Flaherty are both on the 7 day DL in Tacoma. Not sure what the effective dates are, but their availability looks sketchy at best. I guess Willie could toss a few innings. =)

Felix’s injury was scary as hell, but the news looks encouraging so far. If the worst case if he misses 1-2 starts, I can live with that. If I’m the GM, I use this opportunity to give Feierbrand a look for a couple of starts.

#57. True that, the equipment afforded these guys for daily use is no doubt amazing. With his fire, I hope they don’t let him return to soon though. I just watched the video, made me sick.
Tangent, his home run rounding the bases was classic. 10.0 for style, pace, and finished w/the wink as he crossed homeplate. As it will forever be memorialized on the jumbotron, nice that it was so perfect.
Also, Willy will forever be associated w/greatness, as he was right next to Felix from the plate to the dugout. Plus the 2 runs he scored tonight, without an extra base hit. The Streak lives on!

thanks for clarifying the ankle sprains. My stomach dropped when I saw the espn ticker saying “sprained ankle”, and knowing firsthand the pain from that I thought his season would be over based. I had a severe sprain in September, Grade III, I suppose…I was told I would have been better off breaking it. It hasn’t really healed but I wear an ankle brace during softball games. Glad this sorta thing didn’t happen to Felix. I like that he tried to stay in the game, shows what kind of warrior he is. The Interview would leave a game if he broke a fingernail on his glove hand.
