    Opposite freaking field!

Don’t ever.. EVER.. let him go!

That made up for so much of this season. When was the last time a single AB made M’s fans as happy? 1995?

We need a new mustache commercial (preferably one that doesn’t include Jarrod Washburn). Wow

Am I to understand that with one swing of the bat Felix Hernandez has matched WFB’s RBI total for the season.

plus, I can hear him in the post-game:

“It was Johan Santana, I had to go yard!”

Best moment in Seattle Mariners history. We needed a moment like this this year.

As Gameday was loading up, I saw the 4-0 score and was hoping someone had hit a grand slam. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw who did it.

Felix now has more XBHs than Willie this year, too.

Do we need any more proof that Sexson or Vidro should be hitting 9th behind the pitcher when we are at NL parks???

I was having dinner at the RAM, watching through the bar window, when he hit that. Everyone in there (well, all ten of us… it was 4:30 after all) erupted in cheers and hysterical laughter.

Best moment in M’s history in a few years in my book 🙂

Does anyone remember the old M’s commercial where they cloned Junior and he played all 9 positions? Well…………

  13. cdowley on June 23rd, 2008 7:01 pm

‘Course, this organization would clone WFB instead…

Thank to the person who mentioned Gameday as I’ve never seen it before and it is incredible!

    pFX?
    Degrees?
    Release/Result?

    Long live the King!

I was at the game, but missed the GS waiting in line for beer and a sausage/pepper sandwich.

Unfortunately, I did not miss the ankle injury.

#13 With WFB, we would at least have some energy on the field. But I know what you mean.

Bad mechanics, hard swing, sweet result.
I couldn’t believe it, most definatley one of my favorite Mariner moments.

I think Riggleman should have Felix DH between starts. Do some sort of Brooks Kieschnick thing (bad example..sorry.) I hear the M’s are coaxing former pitcher Frankie Rodriguez out of retirement so he can pitch run if Turbo ever gets on base.

Ladies and gentlemen, I wish that for the sake of your fragilely jealous psyches I could restrain myself from flaunting this, but… I was there! Yes, I saw Felix’s grand slam in person!

  20. eternal on June 24th, 2008 6:41 am

I was there. I happened to get tickets to a Seattle game at the Mets two months ago and it turned out to be this one. Was about seven rows off first-base, attending the game with my co-worker, a Mets fan. Wright blows the ending inning play from third. Next pitch, grand slam! The fans were in shock. Not only did Felix hit a grand slam, but hew did it off Johan. Awesome.

This is my first post on this ship. As we say in NYC “long time listener first time caller”. And I post just to say “WTF?”.

Work kept me late and an hour behind schedule. So unfortunately I was on the 7 train on my way to the game when the- what you all here call- statistical anomaly of epic proportions occurred.

My brother who is at the game texts me:
The King just went oppo for a grandslam against Johan

    My response:
    !!!????!!!!????

    My brother respond:
    I know

Third lessons that should be gleened from yesterday’s game.

    1. Pitchers should not block the plate as if they have shin guards.
    2. Picthers hitting is awesome, and real baseball.
    3. Although very irksome the oppo grand slam was a very good baseball moment and a great one if you happen to be wearing a hat with an M or one of those cool upside down trident logol caps.
