Maybe he can hit a grand slam and strike out the Indians every at bat so it can be literally a one man team…
maybe we can field 3 guys, beltre at third, ichiro can play outfield and 1st base so for the 1 or 2 times felix does not strike out, well be covered
To be honest, I’m not sure if the Ms’ production actually would have suffered batting Felix, Bedard, Silva et al. at 9 compared to Vidro batting fourth.

Because of the playing time disparity, we’d need a rate stat anyway.
rain delay
Update at 4:28 PM PDT.
Thunderstorms right now in Cleveland delaying the start. Yet more fuel for Ichiro’s already low opinion of the city.
Oh yes I love a rainy night.

Batting Runs Above Average, 2008 (Projected to 500 PA):
Felix: 550.0
(Pujols: 67.74)
Bedard: 50.0
Vidro: -14.03
Silva: -150.0

You know i was joking right about the Felix thing…
I think we can be fairly sure that if all three games in Cleveland get rained out, they won’t have to be made up at the end of the season because of their effect on the pennant races.
Haven’t you heard? Ichiro likes Cleveland now – he bought cool sneakers there.
Can someone give an update on what’s going on with the rain? I’m watching from the internet no way to tell.
so, Victor Martinez is back.
if the rain stops, mind.
MLB.com says they’re warming up, now (it would normally say DELAY if it were still raining).
Then it was snow, now it’s rain. What’s next?
The video still says “in a rain delay?”
Saturday’s game will not be broadcast on TV by Fox, they decided to drop the game. Radio only.
well, Sims & Rizzs have started nattering on radio …
have I mentioned in the last week or so that I love Adrian?
Beltre’d!
BELTRE
Too bad they didn’t decide to skip Monday’s TV broadcast. It save us all from tuning in to watch the Carlos Silva return of the train wreck.
This game is turning into a brilliant example of how defense can make a good pitcher look even better.
well, Raul is making the most of his walk-year
Man, Raul is sure earning a lot of U’s this month.
I thought Beltre was safe at third.
Looked safe to me.
Giving Ichiro’s arm some respect.
Beltre…screwed the past 3 games by unfriendly, tall left feild walls.
If you were going to put Cairo in the lineup for his glove, wouldn’t you put him at second and move Lopez to first?
Too bad the M’s leftfielder can’t jump.
“Good effort by Raul” is all the announcers can say.
Choo has a higher OPS than any Mariner regular. And he plays left field. Ouch.
31. Didn’t affect Ibanez’s HR.
aaaaaaand Felix is not rewarded for throwing his breaing stuff.
Have the TV guys been reading the sight?
wow. what a great play to end the game. maybe JJ’s arm is here to stay, great win boys
The M’s will now have to go 12-16 the rest of the way to finish with (only) 99 losses. I know it really isn’t important, but… Thoughts? Can they do it?
I think its extremly important. for a season that hasn’t had any goals accomplished i think you gotta start somewhere. It would be great if we didn’t go 100 million/100 losses. I’ll be cheering along hoping we stay below that century mark.
38-
I hope not.
Can the M’s save face and reach only 99 Losses? 8 of the 28 remaining are against the Angels, who may be resting their regulars last week of September. They should win 7 or 8 out of the 15 games against the A’s, Royals, and Rangers.
It’s possible. That’s what I’m routing for, 99 losses.
