Game 153, Mariners at Athletics
7:05, Felix versus Eveland.
I’ve been the “coordinator” for a project at the day job that’s devoured a lot of my life for the last couple of weeks. It’s why posting’s been off since that last deluge, and why I’ve probably seemed more curt than is usual even for me. This final week it looked like it was going to come in, crash, work out, and today, with ~18m to spare, it worked and we were waved on to release.
And now I get to sit back with a quality beer and hopefully watch Felix carve up the A’s. I’m really looking forward to this.

Good news: I’m in the Bay Area, so will be able to listen to the game on the radio as I work.
Bad news: Will be forced to listen to horrible A’s commentators rag on the team, in particular Ichiro, for whom they hold an illogical hate. Wonder if they’ll congratulate him on his record season?
If i’m not mistaken, this Ichiro hate thing started in the very first game he played in Oakland, when some fan pointed a laser at him, and I think that was one day before he nailed Terrence Long. It seemed illogical then, and it continues to this day. I am kind of surprised the Oakland announcers have followed suit.
LaHair is not in the lineup and Cairo is…
so, is being the “coordinator†similar to being the FSN Sr. Baseball Analyst?
and if Krueger is the Sr. Analyst, who is the Jr. ANalyst?
I’ll try and describe this: we have a handful of giant releases a year. Those releases are made up of arbitrary groupings of projects. Each arbitrary grouping is a “feature set”. So I was a program manager for a project, and also responsible for the overall grouping, which carries a whole set of responsibilities and stresses.
In the FSN analogy, Bill would have to be one of the analysts on the program and the producer at the same time.
I figure if it was possible to win a game -1 to 0, it would be a M’s-A’s game in September, 2008.
With that comment by Blowers, everyone better hope the M’s lose 100 , otherwise it isn’t the same. According to Blowers.
Blowers is doing play by play. This IS the worst season ever!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHH
Did Dave get stuck in the bathroom?
I’m sort of worried a little actually.
Oh, they just said he has technical issues with his mic. How about this. Give yours to him, Blowers. We’ll be better off.
Dear Santa,
Can we knock a runner in? Please?
– Ichiro and Felix
PS: Can we catch balls too please?
Memo to Players:
Unless your name is Ichiro, do not attempt to steal bases. Thank you.
– J. Riggleman
guess I’m glad I missed that play by play… someone needs to get Felix some offense. He needs to get back to being Feliz Felix.
so his young teamates can’t get a RBI, and his veteran teammates sabotage him with their defense.
…The wheels on the bus are flying off…
That run was brought to you by Raul Ibanez and the letter L.
Ichiro isn’t wasting any time!
what is the hoodoo that Eveland has over the Ms?
Eveland has 14 GB outs and only 1 FB out. Wow.
Could they NOT get shut out by the A’s?
Apparently not.
“I’m not dead yet”
“I think I’ll go for a walk.”
“I feel happy! I feel happy!”
“I’m getting better”
THWAK
*Thud*
“Ah, thanks very much.”
Well, foo.
As much as I enjoyed sitting around and watching a game without having a build window up on the monitor and trying to manage a day job running into the night, that was pretty crushing to watch.
especially when it seemed that most of the Mariner baserunners were on as gifts from the A’s infield defense.
one bright spot?
won’t have to watch Silva, as the game isn’t televised tomorrow.
The Mariners are now only 4 losses away from achieving the magical 100-loss season!
The M’s are on the cusp of achieving the impossible dream.
