You know, it would be awesome to have the current odds/percentages (maybe with a delta or up/down arrow to indicate significant movers) towards the top of that right hand column on the front page. Derek probably doesn’t want to mess with the formatting of the site, but given that this is the only post-season “competition” the M’s are involved in, it would be fun to have standings there so we could follow the “race” (and cheer for our favorites). Of course, it’s probably going to end as disappointingly as the season did, but I’m an M’s fan, I’m used to depressing endings.

“The Mariners on Monday began seeking permission from other teams to interview their employees, and they anticipate being rebuffed in some cases. Pelekoudas will be considered.

The Mariners will begin interviewing candidates next week and hope to make an announcement by the end of the month. It will probably not be until after the conclusion of the World Series, which, barring changes, will fall between Oct. 26 and Oct. 30.”

Is there any mention of a time line the M’s want their GM hired by? I would assume before the winter meetings but do they have a set date in mind?

Do “bulk candidates” come cheaper than the premium brands? Sure, it is hassle to place them in the plastic bag with those flimsy tongs, but they will save you a bundle.

Why the huge jump in odds since the last posting for Hahn getting the job?

So I’ve gone through the other posts about these folks, but it’s not always a slam-dunk to determine which are potentially USSM-approved. Would it be possible to get a letter grade, or maybe a ranking of preference?

I guess ultimately it doesn’t matter, as it’s the team decision, and you may not have all the information to give a solid grading, but I’d sure like to be able to temper my expectations if we start hearing more from the team about a name who is still the same old-school type who got the team into this mess in the first place.
