I was actually at the Dodger game tonight (I have an internship with the team)
What do you do for your internship? I ask because I was there as well as my cousin works for the Dodgers and I was using his comps. I was probably sitting near you actually.

Cherry is a total hoot when it comes to fashion. I remember the suit he was wearing as a “tribute” to the Oilers a couple of years ago during the Stanley Cup Finals — a black-and-white jacket with a matching tie that had a print of what appeared to be compact discs on it. Not quite sure just how the CDs were related to Edmonton’s run that year…but I guess somewhere in Don’s World, they were.

On another “Hockey Night in Canada” show, I saw Don Cherry wearing a jacket that looked like a fluorescent yellow tartan, or possibly a fluorescent Pendleton blanket.

I’ll bet hockey fans either couldn’t take their eyes off it in nauseated fascination, or couldn’t look more than a nanosecond once because it was like looking at a strobe light….

Maybe the Dodgers are going to kick Nick Colletti to the curb (a few years too late, after some of his infamous free agent signings), and you’re looking at the Dodger’s next GM next to him, RotatorCuff.

And since Nick Colletti will be free then to sign with anyone, I’m sure Chuck ‘N Howie would be interested, and probably use the same hiring technique they did the last time, have a nice informal chat and hire the guy.

They probably think they’ve counted coup on both the Angels (and possibly, if this scenario comes to pass) the Dodgers, snatching executives away right under the Cal. teams’ noses.

Here's a little better pic of Don Cherry Also, I agree, RotatorCuff. Seems to me she would fit the Mariners on multiple fronts. Not only would she be a good GM (knows the contract system inside and out, heavy into player development, stat head) but she'd also be a good pick from a marketing standpoint as well (first woman GM, asian).

Because clubhouse chemistry is so important: from an espn.com article: Only a year ago these Dodgers were done in by a divided clubhouse, a rift between young players and veterans that seemed irreparable. Vestiges of that division still remain, even with Torre's sage leadership. "There's some separation between the young guys and the veterans," Blake admitted while drenched in champagne. "Hopefully [this series win] will help things out. I just try to go about my business. If any of the younger guys wants to talk to me, I'm available." So far, Blake said, only a few players have made a passing attempt to pick his brain.

I was actually at the Dodger game tonight (I have an internship with the team) and the energy at the stadium reminded me of the playoff run in ‘95. Though it does hit a soft spot in my heart to see Lou lose another playoff series…
