Couldn’t agree more, not only because the Yankees got Swisher for spare parts, but also because Cashman managed to convince Kenny Williams to throw in a 2nd player along with Swisher–the aptly named Kanekoa Texeira, who Baseball America said had the best slider in the White Sox organization this past year.

His stats look better than either of the guys the Yankees sent to the White Sox, geez.

I guess Kenny Williams really likes to bend over and…er, sorry. Family site.

Oolon, go look at Swisher’s BABIP, LD% and other stats that are far more predictive than batting average and RBIs. Swisher was very unlucky in 2008. He’s a good hitter and is on the right side of 30.

He doesn’t have to be “the final piece” for the trade to be a smart move.

Just to be sure, we are talking about the same Nick Swisher that killed my fantasy team last year, right? The guy with a .219 batting average, a .332 OBP, and a .742 OPS? 69 RBIs in more than 500 plate appearances?

I’m not sure he’s the final piece to the Yankee puzzle…
