I voted for Dave – just once. It’s a poorly thought out scholarship offer. I’m sure the people who set up the contest didn’t want it to turn into something like this. All this is going to prove is that more people care about politics than Baseball. I love baseball, but more people should care about politics. Dave is a much better writer and puts out much more thoughtful and original content than that political guy. I think nearly every clear thinking person would agree with this, regardless of what they think of baseball. The vote is unfair. Donate a couple of bucks instead of stooping to the level of the KOS people by stuffing the ballot box.

Hi Ruby,

if you stop by again, please know that:

1. no one was attacking you. We have been frustrated and baffled by some of your remarks over the last week, especially as we know that Dave has only posted here, on his own blog, and has not been going out and asking other sites to vote for him, or to spread the word. Dave really does have a lot or readers, including those at the Times and other national publications. They have posted on their own.

2. not everyone who has posted on the baseball sites and dKos is male and/or conservative. This is Seattle, after all.

3. If you read the thread above, you will see that any remarks about inciting “right-wing websites” to vote was made in jest.

4. if you read the comments at Lookout Landing, you can see that the entire thread is full of black humor and dry (and bad) jokes, including those about Dave Cameron.

5. half-way down the long Lookout Landing page is a big green, asterisked comment by Dave Cameron. It was his only post to LL about the scholarship, and it will explain more about him than any snide remarks made by arc14, who (if you check) signed up with dKos just to write hatefully about Dave C., and who himself admitted in one of your diaries that he does not actually know Dave, but just does not like his website.
