You would think the law of averages would help us get a win eventually?? I mean now these games aren’t even close games. How can a team change for the worse this quickly?
I hope this cheers people up….Go Seahawks!!
Nah, let’s just all sing another chorus of “The Wheels On The Bus Fall Off & Off” instead.
I dunno…the M’s are not scheduled to play the Nationals in the interleague games this year.
When it rains, it pours. Then it floods the city streets and neighborhoods and carries all the hopes and dreams away in a muddy mass, never to be seen again.
Aw, geez. It’s only 30 games…blah..blah….etc.
Single, single, yeah!
Pop out, pop out, line out,…. yeah…
“Mariner’s baseball…a new day, a new way”
Really??!
Yeah go seahawks!!! there going to be good next year after drafting curry, signing ken lucas to help the secondary, and getting some help for the defensive line. They should get back to playoffs next year. Thanks coolalvin that did cheer me up.
can we just leave Bautista out there until his arm literally falls off, and we can retire him?
so how long until we hear these words again:
“We got to change this thing around, and get after it, and only we can do it, the fans are pissed off, and i’m pissed off, and the players are pissed off”
More reasons:
Angry Association of Strip Club Owners hired voodoo priestess to put curse on team.
Yuni constantly pining after me, distracting other players by describing my beauty ad nauseam.
Players so afraid of ingesting banned substances they’re refusing all food and drink.
Every player trying to prove the point that everyone else on the team needs to step up.
Glitch in space-time continuum has Scott Bakula leaping into each player’s body just as they stand at home plate.
Constant exhaustion from porn performance or helpful fluffing of fellow players.
I hope the free swingers on this team don’t panic more in this slump and swing at more balls in the dirt or next year they’ll be swinging at pitches in a different uniform. I see more contact hitters on the horizon.
(Note to self: ask for paper bags instead of plastic at grocery store to avoid danger of smothering self while attending next home game.)
Now that’s funny…..
More reasons…
Turns out the Mariners were single-handedly the reason that KFC ran out of free chicken for their Oprah/coupon promotion…and are now paying the price.
The key to everything was Jamie Burke after all.
Junior’s inflamed colon was “lucky”.
Yuni having actually taken a couple of walks, broke his contract with the devil for playing on a contender this year.
The chemistry on this team is so strong that everyone sucking at once was the only way to save Carlos Silva from his fate.
Time to dismiss the hitting coach and DFA Jose Lopez and Yuni.
“Mariner’s Baseball…making the other team feel good about who they are….”
So glad that 11-0 only counts as 1 loss.
In the wake of Melvin’s firing in Arizona, Bryan Price resigned.
Is he worth picking up to once again…maybe to coach up our minor league pitching prospects?
I always thought of Price as the one pitching coach who I felt made a positive difference…but that’s a fan’s perspective.
I just want to thank you good people. I would propose you adopt the following slogan:
USSMariner bloggers: we watch so you don’t have to.
We’re just exhausting the Twins so that we can beat them senseless tomorrow.
I just thought – ‘I wonder if we’re in first place still after this bad run…’
Not so much.
Oh well, just 1 game back is still a ton better than last year.
There is one thing–and only one thing–that can stop this Mariner losing streak and return the good ship Mariner to its winning ways: Bring back the Pink Pony!

What gives with the mod comments? It seems that the Ms offense isn’t the only thing slumping…
Time for a Haiku:
Mods like Ichiro
Racing through dew covered fields
Quotes with joyful song
Scott Baker isn’t a bad ML pitcher, I think better than Padilla and certainly Bannister of the Royals.
But…barf.
Time for Felix to play “Tourniquet”.
Maybe they are getting all of their crappy loses out of the way early. Okay well the way the offense is going even if Felix pitches a complete game shutout, it would be 0-0 going into the top of the 10th. WAKE UP BATS!!!!!!!!
[long link, off topic, and doesn’t even have anything to do with the Mariners]
A team can get dominated here and there. Bad performances happen. That said, I think it is time to worry. If we head back into Texas after another one of these or another blown series and I fear we are headed back to the AL West Basement for a good long spell, perhaps the rest of the season. We gotta’ tough schedule ahead, save for SF.
Hey, don’t get me wrong: this was a blow-out… However (and I realize I am an unintelligent boob for saying so–cue the stat head info about how ___ performance really wasn’t that bad if you take __, __ , and ___ into account) but $11 million in pitching and not a single SO!? UGH. 🙁
Save for a few against SF, things aren’t gonna’ any get easier for the next month+. We lose tomorrow and we are below .500 and likely to begin a steady slide into July. Oh M’s, please don’t go back to the cellar! Four runs in nearly 40 innings doesn’t help. I fear we are heading off the rails…
Comment quality always goes down when the team starts to suck.
As you can imagine, the tail end of last season was an adventure.
Well, now I’m REALLY glad I decided to go see Star Trek instead of watch this game.
So, I missed about …. 6 runs? Ah well.
oh, and, thank you Lauren 🙂
As always, tomorrow is a new day. Hopefully, a new way as well.
This was going to happen as opposing teams got healthier and the Mariners injuries piled up. In addition, offensively the new guys – Chavez, Gutierrez, and Branyan – apparently are three streaky type hitters and two old guys – Griffey and Sweeney – one of which is too old to provide much needed power offense and the other who will provide pretty good BA but not much power. End result is an offense eerily similar to last year less consistent hitting Ibanez. Defense is nice but cant win much scoring 2 or less runs a game.
