The Mariners placed Rob Johnson on the bereavement list today, and Larry Stone reports that it’s due to the passing of his mother in law, who died in a car accident last night. Our thoughts and prayers are with Rob and his family.

Rob Johnson is an exceptional human being and this has got to hit his family hard. There’s nothing to say that can make this an easier for them.

As much as I’ve lamented Rob’s presence on the team sometimes, this is a heart-breaker for his family and I feel horrible for him…

God bless him and his wife at this time… that’s just a terrible thing to have to go through.

The bereavement leave announcement came through my text message alerts but didn’t give details. That really is tragic. I hope he takes all the time he and his family need. I just hate it when reality intrudes into our little universe.

That is so sad. I hope Mr. Johnson takes all the time off he needs to recover from such a devastating development. Hang in there, Rob.
