How Does DA or Branyan not get in?

Simple… The all star game has very little to do with how good of a half-season you are having or how deserving you are.

And remember, half of the all star voters aren’t even sure Seattle still has a baseball team. They think it got moved to Tampa in the early 90s.

DA should be selected by a manager just to go, but Russel doesn't have a chance. The AL first base race is about four horses stronger according to this:

Wow the ship is sinking quickly in Ranger land! You know you suck when you lose a series to the Padres!

The all star game is nothing more than a popularity contest, which, to me, is ridiculous considering the implications (home field in the world series) hinges on an exhibition.

Either let the manager pick his entire roster or get rid of that idiotic one player per team rule. Every year deserving guys get left home because some nobody from the Pirates or Nationals or whatever gets to go. Do away with that antiquated rule and let the managers field the best team possible.

I'm fairly sure everyone who has a say in selecting the pitching staff is aware the Mariners are still in the league.

He has a 1.49 ERA, and is 16/17 in save opportunities. I think that is best in baseball with only one blown save. How in the world is he NOT an All-Star???

The Langerhans deal is exactly what you want from a GM. Morse was an excess asset and we turned him into an asset we need. Great job, Jack.

I don't disagree at all, very good move. I was about to ask what the Mariners can get from the Tribe considering they pretty much gave away DeRosa for nothing, and then I did some quick homework and realized it's not much of a move other than for Sportscenter... I thank this blog for making me a better baseball fan!

Sadly, I’m moving to Iowa next week…maybe I can take my Cali mojo to the midwest…

Well, perhaps you can keep an eye on the Clinton Lumberkings then. Any team that has an Oven Mitt Night is a team worth enriching with your mojo.
