Game 142, Mariners at Rangers

The hopefully triumphant return of Morrow to help stop this losing streak! Slightly shuffled but still not particularly interesting lineup!
5:05 our time.

Over/under on when someone (Krueger? Blowers?)insists “Morrow needs to establish his fastball?”
I’d love to have a shot glass of tequila ready for that first mention, but I’ll still be at work.
Feh. rain.
So have the M’s just given up on Saunders?
What’s the word on when the next play/delay update will be issued?
Apparently not.
These filler segments wouldn’t be quite so boring if we hadn’t seen them 9,000 times already this season, dropped in at the slightest pretext during, before, and after games.
Gosh, yes. If I have to see that Bruehner interview one more time, or that Griffey ass-licking….
And my head’s whirling from my Friday rum and coke, and there’s no late innings implosion to be ranting about!
So Adams and Krueger… McLovin and Lurch?
I’d kill for some filler segments. Here in Portland, I’m listening (no cable) to ESPN Deportes, waiting for the game to start. I’d even take a “Best of the Junior Broadcasters” segment at this point.
Is this really going to happen tonight? Are they giving any prediction?
Tonight’s game has been cancelled.
Double header on Sunday.
First game on Sunday at 10am, game 2 right after.
Well, after a miserable stretch of losing five straight and getting outscored 26-12, tonight might actually be a blessing in disguise — not to mention an opportunity to get back to the hotel early and sleep off that red-eye flight.
Carlos Silva just gave up a 2-run homerun in the bottom of the 7th in Sacramento. His playoff ERA is now 10.80. He also gave up a bunch of extra base hits in his previous outings for the Rainiers. Why can’t Zduriencuk just DFA him? A sunk cost is a sunk cost. Case closed. DFA Silva and Johjima and you have addition by subtraction!
So Miguel Batista has left the team for the Texas series to take care of some “personal business”.
Do you suppose that “personal business” includes meeting with his agent?
Well, to look on the bright side, at least that’s still better than Jose Mesa’s impressive outing for the Phils during the 2007 NLDS…where he came into the sixth inning of Game 2 against the Rockies, walked two guys, gave up a two-run double to Yorvit Torrealba, and lasted a whole one-third of an inning for a handsome playoff ERA of 81.00! 😮
