Game Three, Mariners at A’s
Rowland-Smith vs Duchscherer, 7:05 pm.
Hyphen takes the hill tonight, looking to build on the strong finish he had to the end of the 2009 season. This is a pretty good match-up for him, as a strike-throwing pitch to contact guy against a bad offense in a big park. We should actually get to see Gutierrez and Ichiro get involved defensively tonight, after a couple of boring days for the outfielders.
Offensively, we go back to the opening day line-up with an RHP on the hill.
Ichiro, RF
Figgins, 2B
Kotchman, 1B
Bradley, LF
Griffey, DH
Lopez, 2B
Gutierrez, CF
Johnson, C
Wilson, SS

According to the tracer, how does Lowe have 3 balls?
I can’t wait for a new umpiring crew.
Suzuki… of course.
KUUUUUUUUURT!!! Dangit, another walk-off… Angels lost though as well so it’s not all bad.
Bummer.
ahhhhh suzuki, that guy is annoying.
I’ll try not to think that Langerhans, Brynes, or Saunders all would have caught that.
Ook. Not exactly Guti, is he?
Damnit! Back to back walk-offs. Lame
Why are the baseball gods so cruel! They give us a couple great plays from Bradley and then he can’t catch that…
If you pinch hit for Johnson, why wouldn’t you sub out Bradley’s glove? Really starting to question my belief system in Wak right about now.
I don’t think Byrnes would’ve caught it.
I think Byrnes would have been close.. Ughhh.. Is it too early in the season to start throwing chairs at the TV?
$#!&@$%#&$%$!!!!!!
You don’t? I think it’s a much better chance than with Bradley.
I’m already sick of Kurt freaking Suzuki.
Langerhans sucks but he would have caught that…

Not only Wak, but also the bullpen. Looking pretty shaky.
Byrnes wouldn’t have had any problem with that ball.
Saunders and Langerhans wouldn’t even had to jump for it.
Byrnes would’ve had a better chance, but imo, it wasn’t an easy play for anyone (ok, maybe DTFT).

FWIW, here’s what ROTOWORLD had to say:
“Milton Bradley homered Wednesday, but he lost the game in the ninth for the Mariners after missing a catchable flyball to the wall in left field.
He can’t blame the sun for this one. Bradley got camped under Kurt Suzuki’s drive to left, but he didn’t make much of an effort to catch it as the ball ended up bouncing off the wall and plating the winning run from first. Time will tell if he’s too much of a liability defensively to play left field on a regular basis.
