Game 10, A’s at Mariners

Vargas vs Gonzalez, 7:05 pm.
After pitching really well and not having much to show for it down in Texas last week, Vargas gets a much better match-up tonight. If he can pound the strike zone like Fister did last night, the M’s have a good chance of winning two in a row. Gio Gonzalez has a good breaking ball, but his command comes and goes, and the M’s should be able to get him out early with a patient approach.
Ichiro, RF
Figgins, 2B
Gutierrez, CF
Lopez, 3B
Bradley, DH
Byrnes, LF
Tuiasosopo, 1B
Moore, C

There you go Jose, nice one-hand grab & throw.
League! Good thing he can’t see!
Does League have flesh colored gauges in his ears so we can’t really tell or something? That’s what it looks like.
Really, Sims? *looking around* Who’s been lauding Johnson for calling such a great game for Fister? I guess his legend just keeps growing.
Lauren, I can respect that. After all, there’s twenty-five men on the team and only one of you. Might as well squeeze as many of them in as possible.
Well what kind of baseball are we talking about? Lol
Hmmm, is DA not available tonight? I can’t see why Wak wouldn’t bring Lowe in at the beginning of the 8th with the day off tomorrow.
Sweeney/Bradley
Those hugs mean something all together different in that pairing, Mike.
As Dave mentioned to Mike Salk who asked the same question, it’s because Mark Lowe is not good against left handed batters.
Looks like Ichi is getting a lotta attention at first…
Some more heart attack base running!
Jose can we see… you not swing at the first pitch, please?
I think the A’s say he tipped it but Suzuki caught it.

The radio pregame guy(s) were doing just that.
LOPEZ ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THAT IS RIGHT THERE!
All that arguing, and then one pitch later it doesn’t even matter.. I love it when that happens.. haha
Doug Eddings thwarted Jose’s plan of getting back into the dugout as quickly as possible. But you have to hand it to Jose, he stuck with his game plan and it paid-off. What a gamer.
Thanks, guys, for your input regarding Ichiro’s April numbers. Recognizing how much better the team plays overall when Ichiro is going well, I guess his typical slow start seemed a bit more dire to me because the offense really hasn’t clicked yet. I’m sure he’ll come around, and that the team’s offense will magically begin to function around the same time.
Woot.
good job DA, no baserunners
AA really had a fresh memory on how to throw strikes! Good game!
2 wins in a row!
Playoffs here we come!
Two good starts in a row giving us a relatively rested bullpen.
Two wins from our 4 and 5 starters. This is what we need. Felix Friday is coming.
