I hadn’t checked the standings in a while. 10.5 games back? Well this was a possibility when you go high risk, high reward.
Who’s the dumb shit?
What bench? Bring in Griffey to fail against Fuentes? Adam Moore? An injured Jack Wilson?
It was more or less a confirmation of the prior inning when Wak had Sweeney hitting against Rodney when the bench had 2 lefties on the bench.
I REALLY wish I wasn’t going to the game tomorrow. I can’t think of a bigger waste of 3 hours.
So don’t go.
Actually, I almost wish Kenny G. the sax player would take the Hugmeister’s spot on the roster…I think he could do a better job DH’ing.
Are some people seriously advocating that Figgins bat leadoff instead of Ichiro?
Yeah, sure we want a guy hitting .192 getting more at bats than one of the most prolific hitters in MLB.
BTW, FRANKIE CROSETTI (NYY SS and lead-off hitter) batted .190 in 1940, the only season in an 8-year span that the NYY did not go, to the WS.
And, while we’re on the topic of light-hitting leadoff hitters, Gary Pettis had a lifetime .236 average for a bunch of teams back in the ’80’s & ’90’s…
Just saying.
Advice to anyone who thinks it’s still early, or that this is a slump: you’re in a good position to pick up some good deals on just about any package you want… barely used 16-game plans… flex plans… even a season package.
It’s not for me. It’s mother’s day. But thanks for the excellent advice.
Why punish your mother by taking her to a Mariners game? Unless she is a fan of the other baseball team.
