Rainiers on TV again

Dave · June 21, 2010 at 5:49 pm · Filed Under Mariners

David Pauley takes the mound for the Rainiers tonight, and with no Mariners game, it will be on FSN at 7 pm. Tune in if you’re interested in seeing some baseball. There’s even the exciting chance that you might see Michael Pineda sitting on the bench eating seeds. That’s tough to top.

Michael Pineda eating seeds will be much more exciting than watching Ian Snell eating seeds.

Well it’s good that Michael Pineda has been brought up to AAA, about time. He has very high potential to be a star. I can’t wait to see him in a year or two with the big league. I mean what else do we have to look forward to?

Also Dave, I’ve sent you several emails with no responses. Me and a few Mariner buddies are trying to kick off a forum MarinersForum.com. If we can get any help at all we would appreciate it.

    Go M’s.

Ackley. Franklin. Maybe Mangini and/or Robles.

And that’s not counting any of the guys signed this year, or whatever comes over in trades in the future. We should have plenty to look forward to, but we have to stay positive and actually look.

Hannahan makes a good case for being the utility infielder.

Brad Nelson makes a good case for being the utility traffic cone.

Apparently tonight the offense isn’t less anemic in Tacoma as it is in Seattle.

    ugh.

    ugh.

I’m in Everett, where I’ve watched Steve Baron and Dwight Britton hit home runs to left field.

    I DON’T UNDERSTAND.

hit home runs to left field.

    WTF is that?

Steve Baron Hitting……nevermind Home run but Hitting?

    WTF is that?

It’s what Jose Lopez does when he’s good.

Steve Baron Hitting……nevermind Home run but Hitting?

A single preceded it too, but he later grounded into a DP and thus the universe is still somewhat on kilter.

I attended the Rainers/Beavers game tonight & was pleased to be able to see a couple of guys I had been wanting to watch.

Hannahan’s defense is really, really good. Nelson’s is not.

I can see why scouts have been skeptical about Mangini. His swing takes a long time to load up.

Adam Moore looked pretty good both at the plate and behind it.

And Halman. He fouled one over the left field wall and out onto the street. It went a long, long way with an effortless looking swing. He also swung through a lot of off speed stuff. He’s got one long swing.

    Richie Sexson, circa 2008.

I don’t even get my hopes up about Halman.

He’s the worst kind of future heartbreak, with the Ruben Riveras,Hensley Meulens’ and Ruben Mateos of the world: Man, he looks great in a uniform, every tool you can want.

And NO instincts as a ballplayer.

Seriously, he swung at a slider that wouldn’t have fooled my blind Grandma. Or my dog if she had opposable thumbs enough to hold a bat.

He really does think of breaking balls as fastballs that somehow lack velocity.

It kills me to see such a premium athlete and know he’s so likely never going to be equal in whole to the sum of his parts.
