Game 86, Yankees at Mariners
After all that, we still have baseball to play. You kids like baseball, right?
RF Ichiro!
2B Figgins
DH Branyan
3B Lopez
CF Gutierrez
1B Kotchman
LF Saunders
C Johnson
SS Jack Wilson
P Pauley
We thought we were going to see Pineda vs. Lee tonight. That’s a good one!
Saunders moves up in the order again, so for those of you keeping track at home it’s Bard/Josh Wilson > Saunders > Johnson/Jack Wilson. It’s important to know these things.
This promises to be a thrilling game of competitive, closely played baseball. Anything could happen!

Kotchman’s last game as a Mariner? A good glove first baseman is on the way.
An open message to Cliff Lee: In the event you are reading this page, I’d just like to express that we have thoroughly enjoyed watching you while you were here this season. In spite of circumstances which could be considered, at the very least, challenging at times, you excelled — never once losing your sense of professionalism, and persevering like the champion that you are.
Mariner Nation will not forget that you were part of us. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors, sir!
I like this site and all, but Cliff Lee is not reading it.
I was wondering the same thing, but I think Sweeney is a more logical choice to go off the 40-man roster … but yes, who would be bumped off the active roster? Who indeed? Probably a relief pitcher (pick one) becuase:
Kotchman could actually still have some trade value in a couple weeks – packaged with some other guys … wait a minute, did I just say that? Did I really just say that?!
Does anyone else think this umpire’s “strike” call sounds like he’s saying “ball!”?
Probably not, but I suppose it’s at least remotely possible.
I second Scott’s emotion nonetheless.
Pauley is pitching superbly for his first game in the bigs this season. For now at least…
One probable reason Lee is able to focus as well as he does is that he doesn’t spend his time reading this stuff. It sounds like he watched a little ESPN, called CC and his agent, and that was it.
And who could be our catcher in 2011???
And 3b and SS???
Finally, another team is making our scrub look like Cy Young.

Gotta say: Listening to Z, it sure seems like he has a plan and knows what he’s doing.
It would be nice to have some more trades before the deadlines. Lopez gone would be great.
Wow…pretty nice outing for Pauley tonight, especially since it was likely on a bit of short notice for him.
At least Wak may have another option for a spot starter if he ever needs one.
Wow! Cordero is bad, I hope not to see the next season, along with Garrett Olson, Jose Lopez, RoJo, and other terrible players…
I loathe the bullpen.
Yes, thank you!
Does any GM out there have any surplus boxes of sunflower seeds they’d like to part with?
Anything could happen!
I would DFA Cordero right now. He is still at 88 consistantly, and definately not getting it done…
What was the point of sending Cordero out, other than to lose the game?
It sounded like Luke French was brought up to go in after 80 pitches by Pauley, then he’s at 79 and suddenly Cordero’s hurrying to warm up.
And we all saw how that worked out.
On the non-Felix
and Leedays, this team’s about as fun as filling out multiple tax forms.Maybe the M’s should go after Colin Curtis. Man, that kid is quite the ball player.
Man our bullpen pisses me off…seriously.
Situational hitting too. I really hope we have a couple big signings coming in the offseason. We need some bats.
And Fcuk Mark Texeira.
Chan Ho Park, first Korean-born player to play with the Yankees. Sims, why don’t you just shut up instead of reading from your notes?
No kidding — not to mention, he would satisfy the club’s “quota” for an obligatory “local” guy.
Can’t believe the Yanks even picked up Chan Ho Park, to be honest…isn’t he a little washed-up these days to have a roster spot on The Greatest Sports Franchise In The Universe?
Who knows? The man is a human cat, on his seventh life.
Looks like the Yankees have figured out Branyan. He can’t hit a curve ball at all; lefty or a righty, doesn’t matter. Let’s hope the word doesn’t get out.
I don’t think he’ll be a hof’er, but sounds like his upside is something like Tino or Olerud. I;d take that!
Russell Branyan is the left handed Pedro Cerrano
