USSM Event – Now With More Jack Z
Maybe you saw the the announcement about the USSM event at Safeco Field on September 4th and said “that sounds fun, but all they said was the Q&A would include special guests, and I don’t want to pay $20 and find out that that we get to hang out with the Moose”. Well, now, we can be a bit more specific about who is scheduled* to attend, and as you probably guessed from the subject line, Jack Zduriencik will be returning with other members of the front office to hang out with us before the game.
We obviously have quite a bit to talk to him about, so if you want to get some face time with the GM, buy your tickets now.
*Disclaimer: We cannot promise that something won’t arise in the next two weeks that will prevent Jack from attending. He is planning on being there, and he has made it to each of the ones that that we have previously hosted, but it is possible that something may keep him away from the event. It’s unlikely, but we want to make sure you’re aware of the possibility.

Thank you for this Dave.
If Z has to recuse himself to go orchestrate Lopez/Figgins to the Braves for Freeman/Teheran, I’m sure we’ll manage to keep our chins up.
Very nice. And nice work on getting this event together overall.
Can I assume you’ll be doing the sensible thing, by collecting and screening questions beforehand, and then you or someone else asks them all on behalf of the crowd?
I’d think you would, for the sake of getting the most out of the time, having a minimum # of microphones or presenters, removing duplicate questions or rambling speakers, and so on.
Just to confirm, you’re implying that we will NOT get to hang out with the Moose?
It’s after the waiver trade deadline. Not sure what would stop him from showing, but I guess things could happen. I’d feel safe assuming he’ll be there.
I must go now.
Carson, I thought that deadline was only for elibility for post-season rosters. Players can move in September on the same basis as in August, so if you’re Chicago or Minnesota or any of the teams in the races in the NL and your concern is simply making the playoffs, you still might deal.
As a kid, I lost the competition to propose the M’s mascot. You had to send in a letter and a drawing of your proposed mascot, and I already knew they would get thousands upon thousands of “mariner moose” suggestions from thousands upon thousands of unoriginal kids, so
My suggestion was The Seattle Mariner
He was a drunk, stubbly, sailor man.
Will he be there?
Yes, he will. With an albatross around his neck.
(The name of the albatross is Jose.)
Last year he was named Carlos, oddly enough, and was a lot bigger.
Something suddenly came up. My lose your gain. I have purchased and already printed 4 tickets to the event. 20 individually or 4 for $60. Can meet in seattle area for pick up or can possibly email you the PDF ticket print out. gjasmith@msn.com
