Mariners Writers Twitter List

Dave · December 5, 2010 at 7:16 pm · Filed Under Mariners

I made this last year and it was pretty popular, so I’ve updated it for this year’s winter meetings – a Twitter list of Mariners-centric writers. If you’re not on Twitter yourself, you can simply read the feed on this page to see the information from just those who write about the team, so you’ll get all of their tweets in one place without actually having to join Twitter or load their pages individually.

Here’s the link. If you want constantly refreshed news about the team, that’s your place to sit.

Thanks for adding more writers Dave! You’re the best!

The link stopped working like 15 mins ago and I started freaking out because I have checked that link daily since you created it last year!

So Baker is back? Why was he removed from the last list?

I’ve used the list all year, actually. It’s my Twitter bookmark, a good place to start.

So Baker is back? Why was he removed from the last list?

Simply, he’s really not worth following.

I’m glad you expanded it – since the end of the season, it’s been mostly Salk and mostly irrelevant to baseball (I think the man needs an intervention regarding his Twitter addiction, but I digress…). It’ll be nice to see that balanced out with actual baseball talk.

FWIW I’m not always in agreement with Geoff Baker’s opinions, but I’m glad to see him back on the list.

Please add this link to the “Local M’s Coverage” sidebar of USSM. It would be really helpful and I know, based on all the requests last year, that I am not the only one wishing for this feature.

You can follow lists on Twitter. Just save it in there, and you can select from various lists.

I only “follow” my friends and a few writers who often break news. Then I have lists for celebs, baseball writers, athletes, etc.

In case it’s not clear – you don’t even need a Twitter account to look at this list or to follow most people.

Dave’s list of writers is a web page I go to pretty much daily – but I don’t have an account. I’m not much of a fan of Twitter or Facebook.

Oh look, another photo of someone’s sandwich! 🙂

When I try to look at the link, I get redirected to just Dave’s account. Does this happen to anyone else? I’m reading on my ipad in Safari.

Scraps! SCRAPS! Long time, hope all is well.

Download the Twitter app for the iPad – it’s like a million times better than the actual Twitter website.

Once in there, go to Dave’s page and look under his lists. Then you can save the list to your lists if you like.

    Thanks.

(I’m here, most of the time. I’m just silent now.)

Ah, scraps, GOOD to see you posting.

(And, yeah. The Twitter app is pretty cool).

    Thanks for the link.

Probably could live without the Incessant Stone-Divish flirting…

Baker is generally quicker to report than the other beats. And he breaks a story once in a while.

That Jonpbnw guy posts way too much.

That Jonpbnw guy posts way too much.

Agreed! Is there any way he can get taken off the list? It is tough finding the interesting information after filtering through his pointless posts.

I swear this isn’t meant to sound dickish, but you can make your own lists pretty easy. Dave is there working afterall, so it might not be that easy for him to edit the list to our desires.

Here’s a list I made that has a good mix of local and national people.

One of my fave things on Twitter. They make me chuckle. To each their own, yes?

    Valbuena?! WTH?

Hey guys, “JonPBNW” here. I just noticed Dave’s list and that I was on it and felt bad once I saw I was completely flooding it! I swung by here to see if anyone said anything about it and sure enough there were a couple complaints.

I work from a computer all day for a couple jobs plus the blog so I usually tweet a lot, but since Dave was nice enough to include me on the list I’ll try to keep from taking it over for the rest of the meetings.

Enjoy. Hopefully we get something interesting to talk about this week.

Also worth noting that the lists don’t show retweets that aren’t done manually (copy/paste), so if you’re just viewing that feed you’re not seeing all the info that the people on the list are trying to pass along.
