Bloomberg Interviews Eric Wedge In Orlando

This is a few weeks old, but the guys over at Bloomberg Sports spent a few minutes talking with Eric Wedge down in Orlando. He didn’t say anything overly exciting, but he also didn’t say “belief system”, so that’s a good start.
The video is embedded below if you want to listen to the M’s new skipper say things that skippers say.

How is it that this man, who is only four years older than I am, looks old enough to be my dad? Note to self: never grow a moustache — or manage the Indians.
I just hope we’re getting Mike Hammer, and not King Lear.
Two things that I noticed:
– He has a mini-orgasm when Felix is mentioned the first time. See it at 0:44.
– At the end of the interview the interviewer calls Eric Wedge a “first year manager” and Wedge looks at him with less than affection.
Other than that, not a particularly interesting interview, other than Eric Wedge’s facial expressions.
Looks more like you should be hoping for Karl Wolfschtagg instead of Jim Dangle 🙂
Seems a bit more comfortable, animated and awake than recent Ms managers past. Perhaps the pre- and post-game interviews will be a touch more lively.
I know it’s just the terrible lighting, but Mr. Wedge looks like a Cylon in this video. If he is a skin job, at least he’ll have quick access to data on the players! 😛
