Going on Clubhouse Confidential Today
Dave · January 16, 2012 at 7:14 am · Filed Under Mariners
For those interested in watching me try to physically restrain myself from talking too fast, I’ll be making my television debut this afternoon, appearing as a guest on Brian Kenny’s Clubhouse Confidential at 2:30 on MLB Network. The show is re-aired throughout the day, so if you miss the first go around, you can probably catch it later tonight as well.
And yes, I’m going to be wearing a coat and tie. Take a picture – you might not see this again, at least until the next time they invite me on the show…

Hmm, assuming PST, so 5:30 in North Carolina. I’ll go set the DVR. Should we expect any particular topic?
Break a leg.
P.S. Congrats
Doing a segment on the Pineda trade and a quick hit on Roy Oswalt as a potential bargain.
Friendliest territory you could go into over there, Kenny does good work. Would love to hear you debate Bowden or Kennedy on XM Radio sometime… have fun!
Congrats, and break a leg!
This is cool. Good luck, Dave.
EST or PST?
Excellent I already have that scheduled to record. It’s great to see you get the recognition you deserve and I was glad to hear the great news about your health. My son is nearing 4 years remission. Here’s wishing you the same success.
You made my DVR. You’re in lofty territory- Wilbon and Kornheiser, 60 Minutes, Hell on Wheels, Real Housewives :), and DAVE! Good luck!
A teal colored tie of course?
I stopped being lazy and checked myself. PST.
Figures that you get to do this the day after I go back to school and lose access to MLB Network. Knock em dead, Dave!
Guessing it’s a teal-and-navy blue “Refuse to Lose” tie.
Enjoy yourself. I enjoy that show, Kinney actually got Bob Costas to change his mind on Edgar and the Hall of Fame.
Good luck Dave!
does anyone know where i can watch MLB network from The Netherlands?
Two words of advice that should have been given to the newly crowned Miss America: “Waterproof mascara.”
Y’know, in case you cry.
Starting right now.
Ha ha. Start with all Yankees. I thought that was exclusive to the four letter word.
So cool!
Now Dave gets to say “Do you know who I am?” next time at Sonic Burger.
Noesi kinda looks like Vargas when pitching before Vargas put the “twist” in his wind up. I don’t like it, honestly.
Maybe Noesi can pick up the Hernandez “twist” and get a little more velocity and deception. His current wind up shows the ball outside of the body for a long, long time.
Feh. I was looking forward to seeing the tie… chalk up another one of life’s little dissapointments ๐
Ever seen the episode of Fraiser where Niles gets the Botox injections in his forehead? Show some FACIAL EXPRESSION MAN!!! LOL, seriously, though, nice job.
They told me to take the tie off. They didn’t like it.
Good commentary though, nicely done ๐
I did really like your intro about this being a baseball trade rather than a salary dump, a trade demand, or a garage sale.
My wife did comment that “He needs to move his face.” But she also likes Weezer, so I wouldn’t trust her.
Nice job, Dave! Next time, blink!
Good job, Dave– you talked slow enough, and hair! you had hair!
Nearly 30 comments and nobody has even *mentioned* the time Jeff, Derek, and I were on local television? How quickly they forget…
I thought you were good Dave. It did seem though that you were quite nervous, enough so that you didn’t appear to blink once.
More surprising if he hadn’t appeared to be nervous. When you see authors on shows like Jon Stewart or David Letterman, they’ve generally gotten used to the venue by doing interviews on their local television stations and/or media coverage during book tours.
Ah no. Something like that can never be forgotten.

God those youtube comments suck
Everything you say is spot on, put you need to buy Derek a few beers and have him coach ya a bit ๐ Otherwise, spot on performance. You said all the right things in the right way and slowed them down appropriately.
Seriously though, please get an on air coach of some sort, for all of us. What you have to say is too good to be lost in the Rob Neyer realm of talking heads….
Is there any place to see this clip for those of us without TV?
Loved the appearance Dave. Don’t worry your first TV appearance is like Spring Training.
Here’s the video:

“God those youtube comments suck”
Is there any other kind of Youtube comments? Worse than Baker’s blog ๐
Movin’ on up Dave!
Liam, thanks for posting the link. I enjoyed watching Dave showcase his knowledge. Congrats!
โGod those youtube comments suckโ
That’s why I always disable comments on videos. Most of the YouTube masses have nothing worth contributing.
