This is the best Felix Day ever!
Nooooooo why didn’t I order MLB TV a day sooner waaaahhhhh!!
Anyway, hail to the King baby!
I was listening to the game going down I-5 from Portland to Medford and my mom was wondering why they weren’t calling the perfecto at 21 consecutive batters… I told her that you don’t dare mention perfecto until the 9th…
Felix is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
Waiting for “M’s Should STILL Trade Felix” article this week.
Went down to Safeco in the 9th inning to watch Felix go perfecto. Wore the same clothes I wore all day, and didn’t turn the camera on until the last out. No way was I going to jinx the King. Truly amazing to experience this joy! PS-Root should rerun this game and its on now!!
You guys said it all… A beautiful thing to behold. Funny, just this morning I was on a different blog making a case for Felix in the Cy Young conversation, based on how he’s pitched since the end of June… Feeling pretty validated right about now. (Since the end of June, King has 7 out of 8 quality starts… sub 2.00 ERA, and against NY (2x), Texas, and now Tampa he went 9 innings (shutout) 8 innings/2 runs, 9 innings (shutout), 9 innings/perfecto in those 4 games against HIGH level opponents, with 34 K’s… (If not for Mike Trout he’d have been unbelievable for a month and a half now)
Like an absolute boss…complete and utter domination.
Legendary.
I cut out of work this afternoon and went down to the game. Had the family join me, we basked in the sun out in right field.
It’s one thing to watch it on TV, but it’s quite another to be there. The buzz in the stadium was awesome. And I got to experience it with my peeps. An unbelievable day.
Thank you, Felix.
The movement on Felix’s curveball was unbelievable. It looked like the ball was dropping a foot or more from initially crossing the plate to the catcher’s mitt. As Jaso noted, he was unhittable by “normal” batters (e.g., anyone other than Vlad or Bonds).
Most no-hitters, perfect games require some luck in the game. I watched the whole game yesterday and Felix was in complete control. I did not see any time in the game where he needed a good play by the defense. John Jaso should be given a lot of credit for calling a perfect game also. The more I see of Jaso the more I like him. He’s a keeper.
