It’s People. The CACTUS LEAGUE IS MADE OF PEOPLE! Mariners at Athletics
Hisashi Iwakuma vs. AJ Griffin
The M’s 5th starter/last pitching roster spot continues tomorrow as Brandon Maurer gets one last shot before presumably heading over to minor league camp. If that “battle” is a bit overblown, today’s game may produce gale-force ennui. Today, it’s just Hisashi Iwakuma getting some work in opposite AJ Griffin of Oakland. I’ve written about Griffin already this spring, and while reports of Iwakuma’s stamina and recovery time are encouraging, he’s something of a known entity, and thus the only way this game would capture our attention is if something bad happens. Perhaps it’s for the best that we get no local radio broadcast and no pitch fx data today.
Your line-up:
1: Saunders, RF
2: Wells, CF
3: Ibanez DH
4: Morse, LF
5: Smoak, 1B
6: Montero, C
7: Ackley, 2B
8: Andino, SS
9: Miller, 3B
SP: Iwakuma

Apparently, 710 AM is not broadcasting this game at all.
Great headline! Given the recent carnage, I assume the post game spread is made of Mariners bloggers.
Glad to see 2/3 of a decent-fielding outfield today!
Okay, mainly I’m glad Raul won’t be wearing a glove. The game isn’t televised – otherwise I might want him in the field just for the yucks.
Is it reading too much into this to worry why Guty isn’t in the lineup again? Did he trip over a squirrel or something yesterday?
The sun hit him just at the right angle that it detached his retina?
Irritable (for us) Fatigue Syndrome?
(sigh)
Go M’s!
Going to game will give updates if possible
Top 4 0-0
Raul 3u
morse5-3
Smoaky k swinging weakly
6 pitches?
Iwakuma looks Hideo Nomoish, not as long a pause.I did not notice this last year?2 quick outs walk 2 run bomb to cf groundout to 1st
AJ Griffin certainly seems to love pitching to Seattle. I know that many pitchers have looked forward to facing this team in recent years, but man.
Madatms – no, the pitch count thing isn’t working if you’re following on gameday.
bookbook –
I know what you mean, but I think the number of bloggers is still increasing. Jeff and Matthew haven’t quit blogging, they’re just blogging at a huge farm, where they’ll have tons of space to blog around and interact with tons of different bloggers, and they can write about ANY team they want, whenever they want. It’s for the best.
Meanwhile, LL picked up some very good writers in Jon Shields, Logan Davis and some other folks (I think).
Montero double
ackley moves him over to 3rd with 4-3 groundout
andino walks
brad miller doubles drives in 2
Sauders knocks in miller tries to take two doesn’t make it
wells f
lies out to right
score ms 3 as 2 mid 4
Oh man, nice timing marc w
Rosales Hbp
crisp singles to cf rosales to third online throw would of got him
sizemore ties it up sac fly to cf
reddick dobles on a hit and run crisp stuck at 3rd
Smith walks bases jacked
lowrie flys out to saunders in lf missed an out somewhere inning over tied after 5 3-3
HR Morse – not an absolute bomb, just a high fly that crept over the wall (and Coco Crisp’s glove).
Sorry to be so quiet – I’m having problems with Gameday audio, and being at work means I can’t keep my eyes on the Gameday info right now.
Although maybe others are happy I’m quiet for once. 😀
The Gameday audio sounds like the worst AM/MW radio transmission ever! The hissing makes me feel nostalgic for the 80’s!
Is it just me?
I’m getting no audio at all. But I think that might be preferable to 80s radio hiss, actually.
Jeff and Matthew Are blogging in a big farm, where they can run, and play and catch frisbees?!? That makes me feel better.
Game was a tie 5-5 lost battery power my bad. .
Morse’s home run was in the left center power alley. .400+ ft over a 10-12′ tall wall with crisp clinging /climbing the wall not a cheap shot very close to a bomb not”a high fly ball that crept over the wall”
I may start calling Guti, “General Soreness” from now on.
madatms – my gameday update says Mariners 6 to 5 over Oakland.
