Podcast: An Encouraging Beginning
Matthew Carruth · April 7, 2014 at 11:30 am · Filed Under Mariners
Monday morning podcast(s) continues/begins.
This week we talked a little about the rotation and the defense and handing it to the Angels, the it being a buttkicking. Also, playoffs? And positivity! Lots of positivity; so much so that it got a little weird at the end. Sorry!
Podcast with Jeff and Matthew: Direct link! || iTunes link! || RSS/XML link!
Thanks again to those that helped support the show and/or StatCorner work in general last week. It’s really appreciated.

Cold open into a piano interlude, with optimism to follow. It’s a brave new world.
Thanks guys. Great podcast once again.
It doesn’t seem to have shown up on iTunes yet, at least for me. But I look forward to when it does! I really enjoy these.
I’m having some iTunes feed issues. I’ll post here when I see it resolved, but for now there’s little I can do but wait and see if it’ll pick up the new episode
There is nothing that makes more happy than a Jeff and Matt Podcast! HOORAY!
Seriously, though, there is a local (and very good) ref trainer that says specifically to NOT watch the MLS when determining how to ref a soccer match.
i miss the skype music
iTunes version not working for me either.
FYI on an iPhone you can also use the “RSS/XML” version to subscribe to, it’s just not as straightforward as using the iTunes link (and, in my experience, a little more prone to problems).
You need to go into the Podcast app and “search” for the RSS/XML link (meaning http://feeds.podtrac.com/MAdUMO5UA3s$). I believe what worked for me was to search my podcasts, NOT the store – but it might’ve been the other way around. In any case, put that link in the search field, tell it to search, and then the app will ask “Do you want to subscribe to the podcast http://feeds.podtrac.com/MAdUMO5UA3s$“.
Yeah, for iPhones and the like, if you go to the Podcasts app, click on “My Podcasts” (NOT “Search” tab) and in the “Search My Podcasts” box, enter the feed URL above, you can subscribe and get the latest ep and all prior eps.
The issue is iTunes treating it like 2 different feeds since I moved and redirected the location. And currently the old one is what shows up in search. It may take the better part of this week to get the iTunes stuff resolved since it seems like an iTunes caching issue.
Check out Patreon (http://www.patreon.com/) as a possibility to get people to support your podcasting. Here’s someone who looks like they’re doing pretty good with it: http://www.patreon.com/rhap (no idea who this guy is, just googled ‘patreon podcast’). And here’s someone else who does it on a per-podcast basis: http://www.patreon.com/mikefalzone
You can put me down for $1 or $2 per podcast 🙂
Always love these. Thanks, guys!
FYI the iTunes version seems to have sorted itself out – this podcast now shows up. Huzzah!
Has it? It’s still acting wonky for me. It has the right feed URL now, but doesn’t seem to be updating the episodes for some reason
Huh. It worked for me on my iPhone – when this latest version didn’t show up, I had added the non-iTunes version of the podcast channel… but kept the iTunes one as well. This particular podcast showed up on the iTunes stream sometime Tuesday morning, and that’s the one I listened to.
However if I log into iTunes (on my computer) and go look at the list of StatCorner Podcasts, “Suck It Angels” isn’t there!
I went ahead and just deleted it on my phone, restarted the phone (to clear any possible cache), and went back to your podcast. I was still able to find this episode under “Add Old Episodes” and re-download it.
So it’s on my phone, but refuses to show up in my iTunes. Very odd…
This all runs kind of contrary to the “It just works” concept, I must admit.
Yeah, so the Podcasts app is working fine in reading the episodes. iTunes itself, not so much. I’m hoping it sorts itself out eventually.
Thanks for doing these, I find it a nice way to keep up to date with what’s going on with the Ms in a lightweight fashion, since I haven’t set aside the time to read tons of blog posts like I used to. You should try to get Graham on and have a classic LL reunion.
