Felix is having himself a game tonight! (bottom of 6th, 1-0 Mariners)
And the score is very reminiscent of many old-time Felix outings as well, unfortunately.
Robbie seems to be having trouble holding onto the ball at the moment.
We could be in last place in the division here pretty quickly if this series gets out of hand. The offense needs to pull their collective heads out of their a**es and score more than 2 runs a game.
Golden Sombrero for Zunino his first game of the season. Welcome back Mike!
It’s a good time to score a run or two, fellas.
Atta boy, Jean!
I am a fan of Mr. Segura.
Seager!
I would like to see Zunino get one more at bat, but I’m not sure why. Ending the day with a “Stanton” would not be fun.
Contact!!! Atta boy, Mike.
Runs! I see Runs!!!
Woo hoo! Mariners win!
** Saturday, April 21 **
Game is currently delayed until 6:30 pm (Pacific) due to weather.
Paxton has been so inconsistent this season, one game he blows everyone away, next game he looks mediocre at best. This is going to make for a long uneventful season, it was already looking that way but now it’s looking worse.
I have to admit – when the Mariners’ offense is on, I sure enjoy watching it!
Haniger’s homer makes it 9-6 Mariners.
Well, the offense will be the top game story but Paxton’s inconsistency is getting tired.
I agree with you, mrakbaseball. However unlike many past seasons, at least now when one of our pitchers falls behind by a couple runs – we can at least hope to see a comeback!
Dammit, Diaz – THROW STRIKES.
DAMMIT, DIAZ – THROW STRIKES!!!
Thank god! Diaz gave me a heart attack there.
Nothing drives me more nuts than a pitcher who seemingly can’t throw strikes.
Diaz has been great this season. I don’t know if he had been asked to get a 4 out save… ever. Hopefully people cut him some slack I am so used to us blowing early nut crushing games early in the season and despite the occasional bout of wildness we haven’t blown a 9th inning lead yet this year.
First about Diaz
We all have bad days. Anyone who has ever played any sport knows it. The further up the food chain, the finer the line is.
Next optioning Heredia
I guess the fact that we could get him back vs. letting Ichiro go is a factor, but Ichiro looks finished to me. We even replace him in the OF late for defense. I don’t like it.
I love Ichiro but obviously there’s no justification in keeping him on the roster and optioning Heredia to Triple-A. Everybody knew this would happen. The organization learned nothing from the Griffey fiasco.
Diaz has been great, until last night. It just drove me crazy that he kept hitting the same line about 6 inches out of the strike zone, over and over. And he did it regardless of batter handedness!
He was being maddeningly consistent about it.
Hey it’s Baby Face on the mound! Welcome back, Erasmo!
Hey, Ichiro actually got an infield hit!
Ichiro now with two infield hits. He’s going to need the Ben-Gay after this game.
Triples are so much fun to watch. Welcome back, Ben Gamel!
Haniger continues to rip.
Ichiro walks… let’s not strand another runner guys.
Hilarious, Ichiro reaches base for the third time.
THAT is an extreme shift.
… and then they hit the guy.
Man, Haniger is on Fire!
Ichiro has been on base every time ! Hahaha
Nice to see the aTexas bullpen having trouble. Walk a run in guys!
Shoot, left ‘em loaded again.
Zunino pick-hitting for Vogelbach… there’s a guy who better heat up soon if he wants to stay on the roster. It’s not good when a bat-only player doesn’t show much with the bat.
Cano probably beat DeShields anyway, but the dude dove clean over the bag!
Come on, Vincent.
Come on, Kyle!
Okay, Dee, do it!
Crap. Oh well, they won the series. But they wasted a lot of opportunities.
They won a series, but this game wasn’t satisfying at all.
3-16 RISP is not going to win very many games, such a wasted opportunity for a sweep. Nice to win the series but losing a very winnable game really hurts.
On to the next!
I was upset about losing to the Rangers. But then I realized they are one of the top 30 teams in baseball and don’t feel as bad.
Hahaha heyoka
