Game 59, Mariners at Rangers

Snell vs Wilson, 5:05 pm.
Need some relief from Strasburgmania? West Tennessee is playing a day game today, and Dustin Ackley is 2 for 3 with a double, triple, and a walk. He’s now running a .475 on base percentage since May 1st. The adjustment to wood bats and Double-A might have taken a bit of time, but he’s made it, and he’s doing just fine now.
On to the Mariners line-up, because we have to, I guess.
Ichiro, RF
Bradley, DH
Gutierrez, CF
Lopez, 3B
Josh Wilson, SS
Tuiasosopo, 1B
Alfonzo, C
Saunders, LF
Figgins, 2B

Please tell me someone just heard Sim’s “The Roof! The Roof! The Roof is on fire!”
Weeeellll…at least the Blackhawks are only about four minutes and change from winning their first Stanley Cup in fifty years…
I mean, I hate that team…but, hey, at least it’s a better game than the one the Mariners are trying to play at the moment.
DFA Snell, DFA Sweeney and Kotchman. Get rid of anyone who isn’t going to help this team. Time to see what the young guys have. Wonder if Ackley will get called up this year…
Nice timing on that comment, scott19 🙂
Was there ANY chance we could have kept Lee if we were any good this year? I assume not, but it’s frustrating that we never made it a possibility. That guy’s better than Felix.
There can’t be many more Lee starts at Safeco. Maybe we should have a Cliff Lee Appreciation Day for his next start to try and get him to stay 😛
Not so fast, apparently.
I noticed that, too, Breadbaker. Hell of a game that turned out to be!
Well, after Chicago chumped out the Canucks in the Second Round, I figured the least I could do was to help along the “Curse of Marian Hossa” by mentioning that! 🙂
And, on Lee, I would say yes…though, unfortunately, that chance is now looooooong gone.
This season reminds of a certain 4th of July from my childhood, when my friend brought over that M-80. For weeks we’d been looking forward to blowing something up with that thing. Then we lit the fuse and fffffttttt…(silence)
This season sucks, I’m so disapointed after all the buzz this offseason. At least the question marks have been figured out now. However, Fister, Vargas and the paper boy have really done well. I guess that’s three nice bright spots on the year.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day…
