I totally get the sentiment, but I would just say that before you rush to judgment, consider that lots of athletes point to the sky in honor of some deceased relative or friend (i.e. “this one’s for you” sort of deal.) I don’t know what Swisher’s personal motivation for the gesture is, but there’s no sense in lambasting him either way.
Lots of people thought Felix was being cocky when he started kissing each of his arms after a win, until Drayer informed them it was because he had his kids’ names tattooed there on his wrists and was doing it for them. Strange, maybe, but no big deal.
Please put Vargas back out there, our bullpen is bad

Ugh this bullpen is a mitigated disaster.
Our two best relievers are scared to throw anything other than a freaking fastball.
I am going to the game on Saturday and I don’t think I’ve ever been so unexcited to go to Safeco. This year has been terrible with a capital T. I am going to be doing a lot of booing on Saturday, that’s a guarantee.
It’s not all bad…Felix is pitching.

You stick to your guns David Aardsma … and someday you are just bound to get A-Rod out by attempting to throw straight fastballs by him. Please do make sure you walk the potential go-ahead run first though … so we can have a true apples to apples comparison of data points.

No real distinction to be made … simply an overstatement of the obvious. Establish a budget at a higher threshold and either lower the profit margin or increase the loss. Either way, they set it – they sell/spin it … and we either buy the reasons for it or we don’t.
I don’t understand how our catchers can mix up pitches with Vargas and Sweeney, then exclusively call fastballs with Aardsma. It’s ridiculous. All the batter has to do is sit on that fastball. I think Wetteland might be telling our bullpen to keep pumping in these fastballs. Its not like Aardsma has pinpoint control or great movement either. I think Aardsma could be great if he gave the hitters something to at least see besides just the fastball. Throw that split more man!
There is only one good reason … while simiultaneously being a bad circumstance. Aardsma only has one “pitch” although he is not really a pitcher. He is a thrower. Big distinction. Molly Putz and Peter Pan cannot hit the straight heat, but Major League players (vice several on our team) can.

I am either really pissed – or on my way to the yellow pages to find a good therapist. I will go with pissed – I guess. I have seen the same movie so many times over the past few months that I (as can you) predict the outcome every time.
The best part of tonights game had to be the giggle-gasm by the 18 year old girl who got “touched” by Ichiro. Did she ever, in fact, calm down? Was she about 18? That was a long time ago for me, so I am strictly guessing on the age. Something younger than my step daughters is the best I can guess. There was no xFIP or UZR stat to use as a comparison point – so someone help me out here. What is the record for one person having consecutive posts? Whatever it is, I do not plan to establish a new record.

I loved it … all of it. Funny you chose the word “chode.” I have been using it a lot lately … and have known/understood its meaning since my second grade teacher made a kid stay after school for saying it to someone in 1972.
I have also noticed the slight loss of speed in DTFT. The extra weight is doing him no good, he has not improved since last year – and his power is not any better. I wonder if he is still nursing some injuries. Either way, he has not progressed since last year, although he is about the least of our worries/issues/concerns at this point. He is simply not a #3 hole hitter. He should be hitting 6th or 7th. In a real lineup – he would be.
There have been some real idiots calling into the post game radio show tonight. Good thing Shannon is there. I think Salk cut a guy off a few minutes ago out of nothing more than pure pity for the dudes’ drunkeness. I wonder how many times the drunk dude posted this evening?
