The last few days, my life has been one never-ending Chone Figgins at-bat. We’ll try to return to normalcy soon.

No sac fly with Ichiro’s arm! Btw it’s really amazing that the team average is .217 but they’re doing so well. I Guess timely hits pay off.
I thought they had this pitcher on the ropes early, and he’d probably only pitch 5 innings, but they are letting him right back into this.
Ryan has been on fire lately. Let’s move him up to the two hole.

Ichiro… what is going on? I don’t want to hear the age thing either. He’s healthier than most 28 year olds. He can still out run most on the team, and still has plenty of power. He seems in between, mentally.

Saunders, we need you to go up there and look at some strikes for us. Big meaty ones. Fat ones. Juicy groovers. Just look at em.
Funny how perception works. Saunders, as pathetic as he is at the plate, gets on base a tad more often than Peguero.

My lunch is souring in my stomach as I write this.
Funny how perception works. Peguero, as pathetic as he is in the field, has a higher fielding percentage in LF than Saunders (1.000 to .982).
(I kid Westy, I tease… They’re virtually the same value player, with very different strengths…)
I like ending one game losing “streaks” much better than the 5-7 game ones…

Absolutely! 1 game losing streaks are the best, if you have to have losing streaks.
M’s are scrapping. There’s something going on here… They still need some key pieces to the puzzle, but at least a picture is starting to emerge, instead of just scattered bits all over the table.
We need a couple more bullpen parts (or these guys are gonna blow a gasket in August), someone to take hold of LF and solidify it, and Figgins to play like his pre-Seattle days.
That’s about as good as we could hope for the year.
Chone figgins to the braves for Kenishi Kawakami. Let kennedy take 3rd and have achley take 2nd. It’s not perfect but will save us money in the future and if kenishi can return to his 2009 form then bedard becomes a great trade chip.
Thanks for pointing that out. What I love about the game and the numbers. My perception tells me that given a fat pitch every AB, Peguero might actually do something with it, or try. But my perception also tells me that P has been killing it, is clutch, and has alot of highlights lately. Picking it up!
Nice win today fellas..still concerned for our inept offense this weekend against the Bronx Bombers, but I will be there rooting for Pineda the Punisher against A-Rod and Co.!
Guti came back at just the right time with Smoak and Ichiro slumping, time for him to put on the belt and carry the offense for a week or two.

I was just at the game. Ended the way I liked…but a couple things bothered me.
1. Mike Wilson is a terrible batter.
2. Chone Figgins is a terrible batter.
One of these is worse than the other.
Every time Figgins came up I’d say out loud “automatic out” and of course he would make me look smart. Apparently we have no way to replace him. How about start Luis Rodriguez at 3B? Or have Kennedy play 3B?
Dropping Figgins in the order would be a start, but I think it’s just avoiding the issue. He needs to be benched for a period of time to work on some things.

Uhh… no it doesn’t, and no he doesn’t.
And very different, but glaringly substantial, weaknesses! 😀
I know… If you combined Saunders’ batting with Peguero’s fielding– it could be ME out there! (It’s fun to think I’m THAT close to being a major league ball player… Notice I left out the fact that their BOTH about twice as fast as I am…)
