Another Slugger, Dan Paolini at #303

This guy is pretty much falling where people expected him to fall. Paolini’s profile is interesting because he was a pitcher throughout HS until he had labrum surgery. Labrums are as bad to fix for hitters at they are for pitchers, but then he hit twenty-six home runs as a sophomore and seventeen with the new bats this season. He also has some plate discipline, with a 36/32 K/BB this season and a .440 OBP to go with the .346 average and the .664 slugging. He’s a bat-first guy, which means that even though he’s a second baseman right now, he’s probably headed to left. I don’t think that he has quite the arm or the reflexes to go the Stefen Romero/Vinnie Catricala route and play infield corners on top of that. Not my favorite pick, but hey, offense.

    Sweet, in wondering if Dan had any relation to Christopher Paolini, I just found out that the last Inheritance novel (written by Chris) has been announced!
