Hang in there Jamey… and Miguel.
A hunch Ryan will pinch hit for Wilson.
Highlights-
Yeah, Miguey’s body gets seriously abused– I think I’d have a custom oversized chest/crotch/neck/arm/foot protector made for me if I was him.
Full body Kevlar mesh.
Wonder if Justin Smoak can swing a bat? He could hit for Wilson, then Ryan sub for him in the field… Probably all depends on what Ichiro does.
Even if just at practice Miguel should totally come out onto the field in full armour. Creaking and clanking up behind the plate… That would be hilarious. And a mace when he’s up to bat.
Oh no, Lueke is warming up
Dustin…please be the hero…now
Only chance is go to extra innings to get Weaver out of the game.
I think HoChuck is going to get their wish that Lueke doesn’t pitch (at least much) for the M’s, seeing as how he has showed that he’s not really a major league pitcher.
Also, 0 runs in 8.2 innings… This is the M’s offense I remember.
Henry-
Oddly, 0 runs in 9 innings, when adjusted for the fact that we’re facing Weaver, seems like MORE runs that I was expecting the M’s to have tonight. *laugh* I want some REALLY historically awful offense- like, say, -1, or -2 runs.
Despite how this game turns out, Trayvon Robinson has put up the single best performance in left field so far this year. In contrast to Peguero, I LOVE the break and line he takes to the ball, he’s actually DECELERATING when he makes a catch, and in control.
Got here late – is something wrong with Ryan?
I was at the game on Wednesday. Josh Lueke looked ultra-terribad. Let’s hope he fan figure something out.
I think Wedge said something about his heartbeat.
Lueke throwing an offspeed for a strike. That’s really important.
Everyone knows the fix for that… (Say it with me) “He’s gotta be more aggressive.”
Either that, or get one of those cool Dick Cheney pacemakers.
Good point, and that fits the theory, ’cause anytime you shoot your hunting buddy, you’re definitely “being aggressive” to Wedge’s standards.
Lueke pitches better when nobody is on base.
There, fixed it.
Wow, not a single strike to Kennedy and he struck him out. Where’s Molina and a good spitting when you need one?
There is a certain point at which an umpire should be benched for a game. That line has now been crossed.
I wonder if MLB ponied up for Lasik for the umps…..
When is the next CBA due in baseball? Something really needs to be done about the strike zones, especially now that everyone and their mom can see it with the Pitch FX / tracer
Can we just concede? This is getting ugly. Eventually the Angels are going to score… And we’re… well… not capable of that feat tonight.
Don’t worry, soon the robots will become so angry with MLB umpiring that they will stage a takeover in a bloody massacre. Then they will call the games for us.
Henry, you’re in luck, I believe the Spanish word for “concede” is actually “Cortes”… (not really, but still…?)
Oh my. Cortes. Does it sound like I lack confidence in the bullpen?
Game over, ridiculous… He´s a wild , wild man
Well, if you’re going to throw a curveball in the dirt, make sure it looks incredible.
Why not Wilhelmsen. Or Bard?
Good call Wedge. Let’s put the wild rookie in in a high pressure situation.
Or Jeff Gray, but why Cortes??????
Oh and C.B. Buckner is the worst umpire in the game.
Call up Jimenez.
So, any chance we really WERE conceding this game so we didn’t burn out the bullpen for the whole series? Might have been incredible managing, in some weird “opposite day” way?
Tough call, Angel Hernandez still inexplicably has a career in umpiring.
Did anyone see the Phillies/Giant fight?
Was it actually interesting?
I figure that Cliff Lee would at least be able to throw a few very accurate jabs.
God, I hate losing games like that.
We really need to have umpires publicly evaluated for quality. I mean, we analyze players until our eyes bleed. Heck, we spend more time billions of dollars a year analyzing teachers and students publicly. Just do it, at least to fend off the massacring robots.
Have been hearing around the grapevine that Michael Saunders’ mother recently lost her year-long battle against breast cancer, on the 5th.
My condolences, Michael.
Yeah, it sounds like this has been a recurring issue for several years. Poor guy.
