Felix deserves better than what the Mariners have given him the past few years. SCORE THE MAN SOME RUNS!
What’s with Cespedes suddenly not sucking out in the field?!
Dammit…when it rains it pours…..
Like I said earlier… we are just doomed.
Actually can’t tell if it was in the glove, as it was kinda sunk into the grass. Gotta give him credit for that effort, but man…. we need a break!
Oakland TV crew having a huge internal argument about whether Cespedes catch was a catch or a trap. It’s kind of entertaining, actually; they’re not letting it go.
Saunders with three K’s looking. I blame Dave Sims
Colon is certainly getting the benefit of the doubt with the lower corners.
Yup, unlike Felix in the 3rd when facing Crisp.
Power vs Power here.. Wilhelmson vs Cespedes
Although he failed, Olivo did something there, I have wondered why they haven’t tried having Montero do…. throw from his knees. Or a knee.
Cespedes = Pedro Cerrano
oh FFS Olivo…. >.<
I HATE OLIVO SO DAMN MUCH
Perfect example why Olivo shouldn’t play.
How exactly did he not catch that last pitch?
Hats for bats
That was a strike… How does Olivo drop it. Why is Eric Wedge so oblivous to Olivo being such a bad catcher.
People say Olivo’s strong throwing arm benefits the team – but I strongly suspect far more runners advance on his passed balls than he throws out attempting to steal.
Montero may have a bad throwing motion, but if he can block pitches and keep them in front of him, I’d argue that’s a net improvement defensively over Olivo.
Olivo is just showing Montero what not to do, duh
if the M’s were capable of scoring 5 or 6 runs on any given night, Olivo’s glove issues would be much easier to overlook…
hehe
Montero also has time to improve his throwing motion. And Jaso is on the roster!
I would rather see Montero back there even if he is struggling. At least he would be getting experience. Catching once every 2 weeks isn’t going to do Montero any good.
Condor has a strong arm but is not an accurate thrower.

Of course, Olivo’s a detriment to that goal, too; 250 OBPs are not good for run scoring.
I truly believe Miguel Olivo just got himself released. He doesn’t hit and he doesn’t catch. I think he’s gone, that was his last straw.
Nor is a .143 OBP. 😉
I swear Weeks is going to injure himself in an at-bat before too long.
Way to shit the bed, M’s.
See my username….this is gonna be a long season if Wedge and this average minor league team keep it up.
Ok well, that sucked.. Here’s my recap, though most of you already know http://sport-ne.ws/dkr
We make Bartolo Colon look GOOOOD
They are going to need to show a lot highlights of Cammy’s heater from every angle for this post game show to keep my attention. Hey Wedge … Stop playing Olivo, dumbass.
That was pathetic. Colon pitched a great game; but after the last couple years my tolerance regarding any pitcher making our batters look bad is pretty low.
Well… we’ll see if Wedge is consistent with the whole accountability thing tomorrow by whether or not Olivo is in the lineup.
The only veteran grit I saw from Olivo tonight was all of us gritting our teeth at every Olivo AB.
A modest proposal. Release Oivo and extend Cameron’s one day contract. 😉
Dave, to cover the night’s only positive note, the other Mr. Cameron reminded us so much of his unique connection to the city and the fans. Plus, before the first pitch there was a Make-A-Wish recipient who ran around the bases. Mike made sure that she was as much a part of his ceremony as he himself was, talking to her, posing for pictures with her entire family, etc.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: no player who was asked to replace an irreplaceable legend ever did so with the success of Mike Cameron, which is a tribute to the size of his heart and the size of his talent. And the city loves him every bit as much as he loves the fans.
Well said, Breadbaker.
