Iwakuma vs Kazmir, 9:05 am.

Scott Kazmir is healthy again, and is currently throwing as hard as he did when he was a top prospect. Don’t think of Kazmir as the broken terrible pitcher of the last few years. His fastball has been up to 96 and his slider has some bite again, so the M’s will have their work cut out for them today. As always, the key with Kazmir is to not give him free outs, and make him throw strikes consistently. Patience, not aggressiveness, should be the trait of the day.

    Jesus that was frustrating. Why didn’t they leave the Bartender in? he’d had a good inning sandwhiched around that error. Two strike-outs, plenty of righties coming up. Dumb, dumb decision.

    Throughout the last 18 years, Cleveland’s always been the team to bite us in the ass.

    Understatement alert. That was a FRUSTRATING series. Downright Sisyphean, actually.

    And I think it WAS stupid to take Wilhelmsen out for the 10th. He could’ve gotten us 3 outs in that inning.

    Argh. I’m gonna go have a rum and coke and gamble. Triple-strength on the rum.

    The Indians have some good mojo working for them right now (plus they are a vastly improved team) and the M’s are doing the usual loser thing. Combine the two and you had to know they would find a spectacular way to win.

    In the post-game, Wedge said that he didn’t want to send Wilhelmsen back out there in the 10th because he didn’t want to risk it going wrong for him. That he’d had a tough break in the 9th and was emotional but still got out of the inning…and that needed to be protected.

    …or something like that.

    The one pitch that Iwakuma threw to Raburn should have struck out on changed the whole outlook of the game. Turned a zero-run inning into a four-run inning.

    That being said, Tom has to catch that ball and we should have won.

    I’m just starting to hate umpires.
