Links updated, etc
DMZ · August 25, 2004 at 11:37 pm · Filed Under Site information
I’ve finally caught up updating the links from what we had on the old USSM site. I uh… I haven’t entirely worked out how to get sorting to work properly: it was just a list in the old days, and now it’s all in our super-cool database and generated each time you load the page, which means I’ve got some more work to do to get that up and tweaked.
And thanks for the suggestions on what we could do: I’ve got a list I’m trying to work through, but I appreciate the emails and comments.

I’m getting an old Future Forty (dated July 1st).
can we just confine it to baseball? Okay, new kid, fine, but your flight problems and your computer problems, I say again, nobody gives a shit
Yeah no doubt…what are we paying you guys for anyway? I want my money back!
oh, wait…
If you don’t give a shit, don’t read it. I feel like the semi-personal content (and political/music talk at other baseball blogs) gives the baseball writing a little extra flavor – a little more context as to where the author’s coming from.
Bagchucker: as you seem to be unable to figure this out on your own, please note that we sorted this stuff into “categories” so you only have to read what you want. For instance, if you bookmark “http://ussmariner.com/index.php?cat=1” as your U.S.S. Mariner link, you’ll only get the baseball.
It’s as if I actually thought ahead to accomodate you.
Please try to be more polite in the future.
“bagchucker” sounds like an airline employee who took that post a little bit personally. Ease up on the coffee, man.
In bagchucker’s defense, I feel the same way sometimes. There are some baseball blogs with some… strong political bents that are frequently injected into the stream of baseball commentary that have served to make me more cautious about bringing that in here.
Also, index-by-category seems not to be working as well as I’d wanted it to when we prototyping this… I wonder if there’s a limit to the number of posts it can handle dynamically like that.
Derek, keep the info coming man. As a big fan of USSM, I care about the site news, personal info and most anything else you guys post here. Perhaps bagchucker should return to the excellent baseball coverage of the Seattle newspapers, where Willie Bloomquist is a hero and the writers are so in bed with management that you always find out exactly what Lying Lincoln wants you to know?
Sorry. Spouting off, forgot there were actual people here. Might have been a few beers involved too. Anyway, I’ll be good.
