Podcast: It got better?

Monday morning podcast(s) continues/begins.
Jeff is sick and so the plan was to pack the podcast and make it a shorter one than usual — because who likes to hear Jeff sniffling all the time? — and then we went for an hour. We are just terrible at planning.

Thanks again to those that helped support the show and/or StatCorner work in general last week, and in the past, and hopefully in the future. It’s truly appreciated.
For the first time this year, I realized today that it was Monday and Monday means podcast, and this is good. I really enjoy these.
I don’t think anyone ever believed in Bavasi, and the results were terrible, so it was easy to rejoice when Zduriencik came in and made some good moves right away. If the team lets him go and hires the most outstanding front office to replace this one, the new group will be welcomed, but with guarded optimism. It’s not just that we live under a perpetual Mariners-induced cloud; we know now what it means to jump on the wagon too soon and get too settled in. Our expectations are more realistic. Get us in the playoffs, keep pace with Billy Beane for a couple of years, then I’ll believe.
Sounds silly I suppose, but I’d just like to find myself not surprised, or holding my breath, when they play some consistently good ball.
Awesome. So happy. These podcasts, Kyle Seagar, and Felix really are the only redeeming qualities of the Seattle Mariners at this point.
Fernando Rodney is basically water-torture, as opposed to Putz or Wilhelmsen who were like a firing line.
