Bonds denies accidental steroids use
SF Chronicle again breaks leaked testimony:
Barry Bonds told a federal grand jury that he used a clear substance and a cream supplied by the Burlingame laboratory now enmeshed in a sports doping scandal, but he said he never thought they were steroids, The Chronicle has learned.
Or, to be more specific:
Bonds said that as far as he knew, Anderson had given him only legal products to treat the arthritis and fatigue that afflicted him, especially when playing a day game after a night game.
You may note that despite the content of what Bonds said, many headlines read “Bonds admits steroid use/Bonds admits accidental steroid use” and so forth, despite that not happening.
You can also read Victor Conte’s side of things on ESPN.
Considering the wonder that was yesterday’s comments section, no one should be surprised that I’m not turning them on for this one. Please do not carry steroid discussion into other threads. If you have something you want us to write about in particular, email us.
My editorial post on all of this is in progress. It may take a while. Please be patient.
