Three to minors

In case you haven’t already seen this: C Wiki Gonzalez and RHP Aaron Looper were reassigned to minor league camp. RHP Jorge Campillo was optioned to Tacoma after the game last night.

    Campillo was mentioned as a cut on television, but SeattleMariners.com only lists Gonzalez and Looper. There is even a list at the bottom of the release, which lists Campillo as one of the pitchers still in major league camp. Any chance Campillo’s good start last night gave the team second thoughts?

    I wasn’t impressed with Campillo yesterday. I agree with the opinions posted elsewhere that he was essentially a right handed Jamie Moyer-style junkballer.

    Interestingly enough a certain right handed, Vlad whiffing, uber prospect wasn’t sent down. Maybe the FO wants to keep him around for another looksie against better competition before they send him down.
